anyways, yeah milkshape will do you good since you are new. maybe later, a LOT later you can move to advanced stuff like maya.
Yeah to be honest I would start off on what you want to use in the future when you get good (ala 3DS Max)... if you don't have the time, patience, and effort into trying really hard to break through the steeper learning curve then yay good job!!! but taking the easy way to milkshape is awesome too (they are still models ya know <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->)

MS3D... it's the best for the least. 3D Studio MAx... if you can afford the price tag Lithium Unwrap... mostly used in tandum with MS3D, but it's a solid modeling program in itself. Maya Personal Learning Edition... not bad, hard for me to learn, but that's me.
