There is a way of reducing newbie spam

You can set up the forum to force replies by newbies (under 20 posts) to be reviewed by a mod and then be activated and if someone only spams you just dont give him posting rights.

Wouldnt it be easier to have a new section for questions/requestes/ideas any thing that doesnt include any art work. Having "baby sitters" for n00bs does not seem very good.

Erm, a douche is a medical cleansing procedure. Its derived from the latin and is related to the french word for shower. A bag is often used with a syringe attached. Which has absolutely no bloody relation to the word or term deutsche.

Funny how misinterpretation causes people to fly off the handle. I'm not surprised so many people leave the forum when people see trouble where it doesn't exist.

Second, I think the mods have been very generous in not outright banning people for trying to dodge a temp suspend by getting others to post their words. People acting as ventrilo dummies are just as much an insult to the forum because they SHOULD KNOW BETTER. At least new people have an excuse that they're new.

The problem is inherent to those of us who have been here for a while and can't cope with the flood of offkilter new people.

As opposed to "flame new people", I have a more radical solution - if you can't say anything constructive, don't bother typing, and don't bump the posts. That way irritating people can be dealt with in an organised manner and the forum is not unduly disrupted. If a fool keeps bumping his unreplied to thread then he can get temp banned just like any other spammer, and that keeps the hands clean of those in the modelling forum and stops hardworking modellers, animators, etc, from getting themselves in trouble.

    K?

BTW - if new people are killing the forum so much, why not do something constructive like petition for a requests sub-forum?

You got the point across, we'll look into the issues. I'll now ***lock*** this as it's starting to become a newbie-bashfest.
