Found concept somewhere here, looks a bit like TSA shotgun.
I kinda f***ed the smoothing groups up, so don't kill me <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Oh and feel free to flame it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> Most modelling i've done in a while

grip and the front part is far to highpoly you dont need that
and make the the whole edges rounder except that good start
i felt like modeling this one too last week, what is it from anyway?
looks like the concepts from gits
you're putting extra faces that are not needed. If you have a straight section, you don't need to put so many vertices in there. An example:
Top picture: The most efficient way
Bottom picture: Robs you of polys you can use to add detail later!
Both achieve the same result though.
The key is to put the vertices in strategic locations- these can be both apparent, and virtual (only in your mind, for future use). This can take practice, but will soon become second nature.
Other than the locations mentioned before (grip, that part in the upper left hand corner) I've circled examples of polys that you can remove- just delete the middle vertices and attach what's left over together. Same result, fewer polys.
It's not bad for a start, but you're not even half way there and are already pushing 1,000 polys <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Keep up the good work
Started optimising and i'll posted another WIP pic later.
It's ok. I don't plan on releasing mine.
It's just something to do tbh
What does that mean?!
i remember i tried that a while ago failed miserably glad to hear some one is doing it right keep up the good work man
