Most of these sounds are way too short or end abruptly which sound odd in-game.
Chargekill, primal scream, role6_idle1, & stomp in particular.
Spithit1 interferes with the marine player wound sounds as when a marine get hit with gorge spit you now hear two separate screams which make it sound like there are two people when there really is only one.
The 1st two wound sounds are muffled, as is the role4_idle1 sound.
Egg_idle is great but there is way too much static, remove the static and it's sublime.
The good:
Your digesting sound is amazing, couldn't be better. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Please take this reply as constructive criticism and not a flame, it is meant to assist you in making better higher quality sounds in the future. You have a good ear for what would sound good in-game; your sounds just need some fine-tuning.
Do you meaan the first 2 marine wound sounds as muffled? Il remove the spit sound, i thought it sounded good but if it doesnt work in game...
Il try and tweak and re upload.
Also, how did you like the regen sound and the player fall? I thought those two were a bit special <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
1. Try to keep the formats the same so nothing stands out. For most short battle sounds, I recommend the default 16 bit 22hz format. You can use Sound Recorder or GoldWave for this.
2. Try using an app like GoldWave or CoolEdit to filter static, hiss, and hum. If you overdo the bass you'll get too much feedback. Try to standardize the RMS levels so nothing is too loud or too soft.
3. To make sounds end less abruptly, try fading out a bit before the end.
4. It's good you try to keep the file size small, but you don't have to overdo it...especially if your file is the same or smaller than the original default sound.
5. Sounds will inevitably sound different on different systems, and whether you're listening on headphones or with regular speakers. For example, sounds that end abruptly will sound better on a machine with EAX or A3D enabled than if they're off. This is because the extra reverb and echo will make it seem like the sound is fading out (even if the source data isn't).
That's about all I can think of. Send me a message if you have any specific questions <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
