<div class="IPBDescription">an idea to make it more fun for them</div> It's no fun when you join a game over halfway over. Is there anything that can be done to make it not so bad? I'm thinking when you join a game that's over a certain amount of minituse already the joiner gets 2 points below the average of the team. That way he isn't totally caught up, but not as bad off.

just stay back and leech xp from your mates until you are ready to fight, just be calm
but still i think zek's pint is the best <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' /><!--endemo-->
although, i went to show my mate the game for the first time, he entered the game in the middle of a spawn camping situation <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Perhaps if late joiners were given a type of experience bonus based on time elapsed(if 1 lvl 6 alien gives 110 experience on dying, someone who joined 5 minutes after the match started would gain approximately 50 extra experience, regardless of how the original 110 experience was distributed). I think a bonus as such would give people the insentive to leave base with a group of friends and make it easier for them to catch up. Of course, these figures are incredibly rough since I just thought of the idea. Also, the time-based experience bonus would have to be turned off after a certain time so as to not create a dependency for leveling. Maybe I'll think of an actual formula later.
WIN!
Although, you could take the average team level and give it to the late-joiner(rounded off to digits) instead. Helps with late-joining <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Just to be sure, because I am a major sux0r in maths, average team level = sum of all player levels/no. of players in team.
Am I right?
Ah nuts forgot about that <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
On a side note, I'm sick of all these BS "I took down a battleship with a lerk" examples that are meant to show something about balance. If you killed three HAs as a starting skulk, either they were terrible/blind/terribly blind or you caught each one with six HP, possibly in a group of several other aliens.
