Some Damn Good Aliens

<div class="IPBDescription">Allien Skill had Improved</div> Maybe it's just me, but I have noticed a huge increase in the skills of the Alien teams from when the first Steam compatible version of NS came out. I talking mainly about Combat, because I often don't see much teamwork in classic NS so the Aliens often get owned massively in Classic. Again, these are my observations but in Combat I have seen Skulks come flying around the corner and chomp me before I can even fire a shotgun blast, Fades zip over and slash me with focus and proceed to slash other marines with perfect rhythm, and the Lurks with silence you don't even know they have eaten half your team.

Now, I am NOT saying they are overpowered, what I am seeing is that the Aliens SEEMED underpowered when 3.0 first came out but as the Alien skills increased they seem on par with the Marines as far as balance goes. Maybe it takes a while to judge balance issues with each new release.

    depends on where you play

go play in no noob servers

it is even who wins or doesn't

just skill basiced, so if noone is a cs nub i mean combat(whats the differance) and what not, anyone can win...

    thats the trouble with pubs

Alien players HAVE to improve or they quickly become frustrated and switch to marines. (And then we get games like 6v4 with 5 people waiting in the marine start in ready room.)

Well tbh alien skill has increased with each new set of releases as thier have been bug fixses so its now alot easier to hit a marine then it was before.

Take 1.04 for example the bite/marine boxses had alot of issues so you often found marines hiding in vents where they knew they could not get hit.

    *cough* NS_Nancy *cough*

Now if only they could simulate a way to make lag so everyone pings as the highest pinging player, would be nice and fair then <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

<!--QuoteBegin--></div><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->Yes but have you all noticed just how good some of the alien players have gotten?

I have found myself wondering if there is a "flying skulk" hack because of the way they seem to shoot around the map.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Well tbh being a 56k on UK only server i dont notice much diffrence from when i normally play, i play on servers like Yo,Ntfm and the standard of play always seems to be high to me.

Also i havent played NS for a while as i got NWN and discovered its alot of fun online <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

It's because in combat, aliens can use all the upgrades instead of only 1 per chambertype.. and that's considering it's a threehive endgame.

Usually, in NS, aliens with two upgrades are the most common. In combat, it's more around five upgrades per alien. Little less or more, dependant on what evolution they play.
