My old Logitech, Wireless ball mouse's left button, is starting to stick. I think It's about time I get a newer one, possibly better for gaming anyway. The Model # for it was M-RK53

<img src='http://www.nix.ru/autocatalog/mouse_logitech/cordless_mmw.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Im looking for a wireless, optical mouse, (compatible with Logitech receivers) that's good for gaming <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I'm trying to find one that's similar in shape to it.

Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!

    i have 2 Genius wireless mices but I used them for 2 weeks cuz them fall in stand-by mode after 2 seconds and that is not good for gaming.
    i still use my 3 year old microsoft mice for gaming, probably the only good thing they ever created <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I suggest a Logitech wireless mouse model #M-RK53. It's compatible with Logitech receivers, is good for gaming and is of similar shape to your current one.

    Sorry, I just <i>couldn't</i> resist. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Well, my MX-700 is an amazing mouse, but I think you have to use the reciever it comes with, as it's also a recharger.

    Wireless and gaming don't go well together. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Well, never had a connection problem with it. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> Just annoying when dirt collects on the ball so you have to clean it.

    After looking around, I kinda want to get the same mouse. Can you still get this model from Logitech? Haven't seen it around.

    It came with a wireless keyboard, so it had one receiver that can handle the two frequencys, without them interrupting eachother.

    EDIT: And after looking at the MX700, I think that's a better choice instead. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
    My receiver is compatible with all logitech wireless thingys.

    Thanks for the help!

    Trust me, i know.

    - NEVER get a wireless network connection. The ability to move anywhere in the house and be connected at the same time doesn't counteract the fact that you'll get ~5 second ( ! durration, NOT PING !) lag spike when there's lots of traffic.

    - Buying a optical and wireless mouse? Not a bad idea, but have a pack of batteries nearby, just in case.

    - Buy good quality batteries and not some knock-off version. Knock-off versions will cause your character to die a ungodly # of times.

    - Dont have multiple wireless objects close to one another.

    - Dont buy wireless from Mirco$oft.

    Anyone who says the MX700 isn't good for gaming has obviously never used one. You never need to replace the batteries, it hasn't interefered with anything else, and it's got just as much precision as anything else I've ever used. Plus it has 8 buttons.

    Entirely untrue. I use a wireless connection and I love it. Make sure you have good equipment. (Were you using Wireless A, B, or G?)

    I really need help <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I went out and got one, it works fine. Except when I move it sideways, the cursor moves diagonaly, instead of just left or right. I can't find the option anywhere to adjust the horizontal field. Help?

    I only installed the "MouseWare" Drivers.

    One more thing. If I pick the mouse up a little to, say, turn around, the crosshairs goes in some random direction. Does it do this with all optical mice?

    I'm sitting with an MX 700 right here, and I can testify they use batteries.
    However, you can recharge the mouse in the base station.

    I got the latest Mouseware drivers from Logitech, but there's no way to adjust the motion field.

    It might just be me because I'm used to a ball mouse. I used to pivot the mouse from my wrist it instead of moving my arm sideways, to look left or right. When I try that with this mouse, the cursors go diagonal sideways.

    Should I just get used to it? or go get a ball mouse again?

    lol.. Nevermind, I fixed my old mouse.

    I put in a few layers of electrical tape over the click sensor, and it works fine again! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    if youre already shopping for a new one then you cant be afraid to open this one up.

    surely the sticky left button can be fixed by cleaning the years of gunk out of it.
  • Fl4THeAdFl4THeAd Join Date: 2003-07-30 Member: 18587Members
    Yeah, that's what I did Zel. The button wasn't making very good contact with the sensor, so I put a few layers of electrical tape between them. Works fine again!
