(throughout this I refer to broadcast stations, not cable channels) Cartoons have been on a decline since the early 90's. I remember when on saturday mornings I could sit down and watch nothing but cartoons from 8:00 to 12:00 and be entertained, it actaully made me want to get up early on a saturday. Those days cartoons were about entertainment and had lots of animated violence, humor, and just mind rotting pleasure. I feel that the day that cartoons changed was the day NBC started showing "Saved By The Bell" on saturday mornings. Since then it seems like saturday morning cartoons have been all about morals and being politically correct, as if they were trying to teach us something. The whole reason to watch saturday morning cartoons was to get away from learning that you did at school all week, and to just rot your mind with sensless violence and humor. I mean did Transformers ever teach you about sharing or problems that teenagers have and how to work through those problems? No, they had huge robbots that could turn into vehicles and fought each other, showing that violence is the only true way to solve lifes problems!
I think I made my case. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd--> <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> There was supposed to be an earth shattering kaboom... <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Too few children watch "Tom & Jerry" these days. It's culture! Todays cartoons doesn't have the quality of the toons 10-15 years ago. Disney have lost their magic. Their new style of toons look rather "boxy" and non-detailed. Ducktales > all. ;]
Can we get back to the show I was refering to and is the reason I started this thread <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I watched Tom and Jerry today, it was the episode where they both kill themselves by standing on the railroad tracks because their girlfriends left them. It made me very sad.

But I think we all know the WORST cartoon of all time, and that would be Silver Hawks.
