Big Problem, Please Help

<div class="IPBDescription">I am having a huge problem</div> Ok, I have a Xtasy Radeon 9600 256MB AGP. I also bought a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS at the same time. Since this game is a Half-Life Mod is runs in OpenGL mode. Well everytime I try to put the game into OpenGL mode my computer freezes and my speakers start making really loud popping/craking noises and I cant move the mouse or anything so it is totally locked up. And in order to shut down my computer since it is locked up is to Unplug the cord from the Power Supply. Also when I try to run it in D3D it says that it isnt supported. Im not sure it my card dosnt support it or the game dosnt. I also have updated my drives on both my sound and video card. Can someone please help me fix this problem! I would appreciate it very much. Thank you

It sounds like it could be a problem with your sound card, make sure you have the latest drivers for it. When I try to run in Direct3d it says thats its not supported. However, if you click cancel it will exit the game. Starting the game back up and selecting Direct3d works for me.

The only OpenGL games I play are the half-life games and none of them work in OpenGL mode. The same thig happens.
