I saw a guy named Flayra on my old server. Me and a friend wanted to know if it was really him so we started talking some trash (In a joking way! NO Flame PLease!) and he just left. I feel like a real idiot now because a few hours after that I learned that logos were disabled on that server so it might've been him.

I know in most of the private betas the default name was Flayra instead of NS_Player for some reason, so a lot of people directly after a new patch would join a server and discover that their name was Flayra...happened to me at least twice.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the real Flayra at least once though.

I played with Flayra once.
He was telling someone to come to a teamspeak chat or something, but he bit two people before he left.

It's strange. About everybody save a few, were complaining about this and that the WHOLE game, but as soon as Flayra came, they all shut up.

I appeared as Flayra once - first time I played NS actually. Funny thing was, I had never looked in any depth at the site, so I didnt know who Flayra was. Everyone suddenly started going mad and asking questions, I got scared and left <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />

Dunno how/why it happened - it wasnt a private beta either.

Flay is a cool guy, but word of advice, don't call him Charlie ingame, he looks at you funny (if that was possible).

I've never played with Flayra, but i have played against Max and grepdashv(?).

Grep got annoyed at me cause i was jp'ing around in the vents and he kept rushing me and my HMG :/

There was this build during beta testing ...
I saw a guy name Flayra with no dev icon along, said myself "hey, this one got some, faking Flayra on beta testing servers", until i noticed my nick was Flayra too <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif' />

And thereafter, many peeps who joined would have the same nick ==> The build was done with Flayra's config files <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' />

At very begining of beta, we often played with flay, joev, the PT's and the vets (the originals ones like the HAMs).
This has been the most terrific period. The best spirit of play i've ever seen.
And it was a good training, Flay don't aim that good <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /> but the PTs and HAMs !!!!

After public release, i saw them a few time on public servers but now it's been a while. My guess is that they are working on restricted servers/project again.

I think I played with one of the devs once, and overheard some interesting things about Lerk hitboxes, and that you don't have to be very close to bite a marine because both hitboxes extend beyond the body.

Hey why not help support NS with Flayra-nity. It could work in a similar fashion as constellation:
Simply announce a date and time that Flayra will be playing on a special server and have people "pay-to-play". So you could set up a database as to whose already payed X amount for X many minutes of play with Flayra. Give them the server password (or better yet have them send their steam ID for exclusive access only) and let them "basque in Flayra's emminence" <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /> until their time is up.
Put a limit on the maximum number of hours allowed of play and run the event for maybe a week to ensure everyone gets a chance to experience it.
It could stand to influx even more support than Constellation and will be a great way for people to actually meet and play with the genious behind the game.
That way everyone will have a chance to say "Yes! I have played with Flayra!"

I've seen Flayra atleast five time's in 3.0. He play's on one server, not giving IP# or name out, sometime's. I also helped him test out the beta 3 pre-release build for combat spawn's.

He's played for a few hours along with Grendel and a bunch of other devs on our server. IP in my sig :]

And you can know it's him by a few things such as icon and the sound of his voice if you know it.
