That's pretty good. It has a nice cartoony/comicy styile to it. My only suggestions would be to turn on your anti-aliasing. It makes it look so much better. Great so far, can't wait to see it finished.

um i think theres a button up top for anti aliasing with photoshop, i presume you might have to draw all the lines again

Prolly staring at an Onos. Anyways, nice work, are you going to add any weapons to him? Maybe an HMG strapped on his back?

Hey, that's actually very nice. As others said, I also like the cartoonish design. The only thing that probably bothers me is that he doesn't resemble a NS marine, as much as he does a WWII soldier.

Looks good, You should take some cell shading tutorials though

Yea i kinda rushed through my drawing, and the shading is really off, i dont have a real source of lighting . Well, it was coming from the upper right originally. I'm not really done since I have a lot of things left to do with the drawing. Thanks with all the comments and ill post an update in a few days. And yes, its not a NS marine, but ill prob do a NS marine too soon .

give him a Thompson machine gun(not Mafia style with Drum Clip, but the army style with normal clip)

Hmmm... By the way!
Do you HAVE to do cell shading for the project, Not sure if I mentioned this, Its easier to airbrush your first few thingies then you get a feel for things, Atleast thats how I did mine, And I still suck... Sooo.... Arts fun eh?
• LancerEvoXLancerEvoX Join Date: 2002-11-01 Member: 2277Members
Well i didnt expect it to be cel-shaded, i dunno.... its my style of drawing I guess. Just came out that way. Anyhow, I dont know if i'll be using this in my animated cartoon, this is taking me a little longer than I expected, and when I have to do a lot of frames, its gonna be a lot of work, which I dont have (senior projects is due in lil over a month from now ). For the gun, I was thinking of giving him a M-16A2, but a Tommy Gun would be easier to draw. I dont know Photoshop too well, and I only begin using it to draw some stuff. At school, I do use photoshop, but I dont spend a lot of details on the drawings since I have to make a lot of frames for animation. So my cartoons becomes a very simplistic coloring, with only one main color with no shading.

Others? It was just me! I never get any credit!
Jus' kiddin'!

I like how it's coming along, but give him an M16 (Vietnam Era) or M4a1 (moden day), that'd be cool. I only use PS for text effects, resizing, skewing, and image compression, so I dunno how to "draw" really...can't help ya with the anti-aliasing.
