silver if you can, but otherwise white
i think red and black show dirt too much .. white shouldnt .. and it will keep it "cooler" than red <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I'd take the silver color too. Metallic, of course. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
But as you gave only two suggestions, then I'd rather go with white than red.
Red car paint has the habit of fading horribly but white looks just plain poor. So I dunno what you should choose <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

What color is the interior? And, why do you only have red and white as your choices? Why am I so damn nosey?
If I had to pick between the two, I'd probably pick the red. The white will constantly look dirty. The other colors I'd prefer is a platinum (beige) type color: <img src='http://www.fordvehicles.com/images/2003/EN/color/Cars/TRS04lx_shift_gdash.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /> It's a bit generic but easy to care for and easy for resale. Or maybe this mandarin type: <img src='http://pprod.buypower.e-gm.net//images/gmbp/13001/vehicle/2004/med/186_802K.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
You can buy whatever color you want online if the painter is willing to use it and give you a break on the cost. That color shifting stuff is pretty snazzy, only $224 per pint too (although I've heard it can be bought for $70 per pint somewhere) <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
I had a white truck. The dirt shows easier, but it is sometimes hard to get ALL of the dirt off of the vehicle. Also, if the paint chips, the gray primer underneath the paint shows up pretty well, my truck had so many chips behind the rear tires that it just looked dirty all the time.
I've had a metallic silver Protege since August, and the color and shine has been consistent through the fall and this winter (so far). Sure, a bit of road salt residue builds up over the course of a few weeks, but it's nothing a hosedown on a decent sunny day can't cure. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

My suggestion? Yellow. (:
Two reasons.
1) It's not some pansy, candy-*** normal every-day color. Yellow gets noticed. People say "cool, a yellow car!" That said, if you're getting a nice generic sedan, yellow may look a little odd.
2) Cheapest to insure. Yellow is the only car color that doesn't wash out at dusk and dawn; your car is more visible, thus easier for other drivers to avoid, thus cheaper to insure. For the record, red is the most expensive color to insure, for the same reason - it is the *first* color to wash out at dusk and dawn. That's the major reason (the urban legend that it's because more reckless people get red cars may be an additional, lesser factor).
silver cars are also the least ticketed cars, while red being the most........ little fun fact my insurance company let me know when i told them i was shopping for a new car

I'd personally chose a dark green or blue <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The silver is taking over!!! Aieeee!
But as you gave only two suggestions, then I'd rather go with white than red.
That's the point. You see the dirt easily, that's why it's easier to clean.
In all seriousness... I would go with white, red is over used... but then so is white.

I only have these choices because I live in a crummy country that has very limited choices in almost everything.
/my 2 cents
hmmm

So go with whichever color you prefer. Consider which color you would most likely want to be seen in.

Anyway, if you have to choose between white and red, well I hate em both, but I'd go with white... Just because...
