<img src='http://members.lycos.co.uk/rabbiteh/fa-m16.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' /> here's an m16 from FA, and imma point out some stuff and errors
the parts circled in red is in progress i believe...
the rectangular part circled in yellow is supposed to be produting out instead of inwards
the charging handle circled in blue is also in progress i believe
this one's quite a big mistake, the "link" shown in the green circle, that tubular part of the receiver should be connected to the stock
there are still a few minor errors but thats basically it
btw if you're unfamiliar with a gun, use other similar model as reference, and not just pics, that way you models will be wayy better
i modelled a beretta using another model as ref <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Sorry for my late reply, I wasnt home for the weekend.
These are very good points, except the thing about the upper reciever tubular part. It is supposed to touch the stock but not to be "merged" with it.
A interesting thing I never saw on any models already is the left part of the magazine lock produting out when the magazine is removed. Theres also the bolt catch that could move when the magazine is empty...
FA's weapon models is by far, the most correctly animated real life weapons that i know of. you should check it out. and yes, all those lil parts you mention on the m16 move too when you slow down the animation in HLMV. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
