<div class="IPBDescription">Need some help... and please take a look</div> Alright, I fired up MS3D, and I gave another crack at modelling.
This is what I had after a little less than an hour - as you can see it's based off of one of my concepts, and it's still missing a few things. (Trigger, Hammer, and Iron Sights).

Here is the current WIP model.

It has 168 Polys,
Vertices: 116,
Distinct Vertives: 86.

It's my first model, and I would apprciate feedback. And if anybody would like to help me/finish it, I would be MORE than happy to send the .ms3d file to you. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Please stay tuned for further piccies.

I would like it if someone could take this model under there wing and fix it up a bit, because this is as far as I can go. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    first, awsome that you've started modeling again <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    second... design flaws...

    ok, so you know that when your animationg, you'll want to assign the "slide" to ONE bone, and all the other non-moving parts to another...

    the problem that occours is that people do the side on view, and forget that it has to move, seperatly of the rest of the gun... so make sure that the verticies that belong to the slide arn't part of the rest of the gun.

    Third, keep it up, looking great.

    good job on a first but the slide should be seperate

    Joking or not, dude - that was pretty low. I'm trying my best here.

    Oh, and Del - whats a bone? Animating? Whazit?!
    This is as far as I can go. It'll probably take me another year to progress or get any better.. thats why I offered anyone willing to fix up this model and such.

    you know those "money shots" of guns that you see with the slide back? try and make one of those shots, with this gun... you'll have to re-do the slide so it's a seperate peace..

    when animatins, that seperate psice is assigned to a different bone... just explaining why i woulding animate this model RIGHT now <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    but do it over a lil better, and i might <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Sid, nice try but the problem is you've modelled everything as a big block whereas most parts should be seperate like Aka'lamanaia has.

    Aka'lamanaia : You've got to finish it now otherwise sid will pester you for the rest of your life <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Almost Done..(Sid this is not a showoff, im just showing modelling parts is easier, including animating it so ya dont have to regroup the model just to animate after ya completed, wich is kinda annoying to do)

    Finished(gona remove the 2 attachments i attached before).

    Wow! Looks awesome!

    ..Any plans for this? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Hmm.. if you have no plans for the model above, just PM me and I'll send yout he one I did... and I can't get any further.

    I have the basis model down, but I can't add a trigger, hammer, ironsights or the grip properly without messing it up.

    Bah! What the heck. Here. It's up for grabs to anyone who wants to finish it.

    And Aka - your model rocks. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I sent ya the model i made(ya can use it but its no use for HL1 as polycount is over 1000 even without the "TSA" text)

    To be honest it depends how far over a thousand it is.

    If its less than about 1500 polys it should be fine TBH.

    EDIT - you forgot aim thingy as well <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    i didnt add ironsight cause the pistol, if used in game/mod with alot insides, wouldnt need one.
