Get yourself a Zig like blow up doll as a distraction then load up on ammo for your TSA pistol and do the shrink yourself and pretend to be a flea plan that was mentioned before.
Then when you work your way up infiltrate in to see the Father/Big brother flea and use your pistol and pull a "John Preston-Tetragrammaton manuever".

i'm already treating my cats with what the animal hospital called "the best bet you've got".
i think i'll try shampooing, too.. my cats like baths. more weirdness from my cats.

Well I know this is all random garbage now, but if you are still interested in treatment for your cat you have several options.
One is the obvious - Frontline. Contrary to claims in this thread, one spot on the back of the neck will cover you for ONE month only, nothing more.
Next is advantage - really not much to differentiate from Frontline here. Roughly same cost, same schedule, same dose, same method of application. Its only different in dogs, where frontline does ticks AND fleas, while advantage does only fleas.
Next you could try capstar. Capstar is basically a tablet you can give to your animal once a day. Its no long term prevention - but fer short term killin', cannot be beat. Pop one into your kitty and you should see results within hours. The bad news is by this time tomorrow, any fleas that have (and they probably have) infested your kittens sleeping stuff, will have leapt back on the kitty.
Fourth is the Program injection, and its probably the easiest. Twenty minute drive to the vet, one jab, one bill and its the end of fleas for another 6 months.
Sometimes, no matter what you do fleas will just keep coming back. Where I live in Brisbane is currently undergoing a flea plague, and people complain that the frontline/advantage/program just isnt doing the job. If this is the case where you live - I'd suggest combining capstar and frontline/advantage.
Flea collars and flea powders simply arent an option, and are proven to be roughly as effective as giving the fleas a stern talking too. Both are next to completely useless.
Dont take my word for it though, I am but a humble nurse, ask a real vet <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
yeeeaaaah. i dont know if thats a good thing................

Fleas are horrible, man. My cats had fleas a lot of the time I was working on Hera, and they were in the carpet everywhere and jumping on my legs whenever I went from one room to another :/ It really darkens your mood.
Anyway, we got this de-fleaing gel which you put on your cats neck, which worked a charm for getting rid of them though the treatment was quite expensive.
In the meantime I suggest you get some pliars to squish any fleas that you catch, or just chuck 'em out the window. And spray your carpets with de-fleaing stuff <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
