Who builds/Who guards/etc
Hmm ok now everyone has heared a hundred times about where the best relocate places are. Thats not what this Topic is about. It´s about "how" to relocate.
In many games i saw that if the marines fail to relocate they loose. No matter if they build in the base after that or not. Now I wanted to make the whole thing shorter for both sides and decided:
relocate works-->everything is fine
reloacte fails-->we loose imediately
now this is risky but if you go into a relocate with this thought, you will be able to do it, most of the times.
So what do you usually do if you relocate and you wnat to be very carefuly?
I always tried to hold one marine back at the Marine Spawn to secure the first RT and sent the others to the Relocate. I stayed in the Marine Spawn CC till it got destroied later (or not). Now all this careful tactics are nice if you want to be able to play a longer game if the relocate fails. Another pro is that you have one RT more.
Big contra is that you will loose two Mariens for the relocate. not good. especially in games of 6vs6 (which i play most of the time) 4 relocating marines and 6 are a big difference. Now here is what i do since some time...I tell them where to relocate. I send everyone of them to the Waypoint and as soon as they are far enough away i plant the CC, drop 2-3 medpacks and get out of my CC. While I am on my way to the relocate it sometimes happens that I kill a lonely skulk who wanted to come into the base to trash my Spawn-RT. Good for me...
Normally I arrive about 20 seconds after my team at the Waypoint. Sometimes they got attacked. Sometimes they are building without problems. If nothing ba d happened, I tell one of them to jump into the CC and build 2 IPs beside the CC, while I am moving to the WayPoint. As soon as I am there, i jump into the new CC and recycle the old one. brings good +starting res. If the IPs arent ready i get out again after dropping some medpacks for wounded marines and I help them building the IPs. Normally i tell 2 guys in a 6 men Team to cover us. If everything is built(armory,TF,Obs or whatever) i get in again and send them to the Resnodes around. One of them stays in base with me. Hmm relocate successful or everyone dead. (Hmm it also happened to me that the Team died and lots of skulks started trashing my new CC. Gives you easy kills if they don´t see you imediately (which happens most of the time if they start to trash it)
Ok this is what I do...Plz tell me how you make your relocates. How many Rines cover, etc
oh and plz no: Relocate are stupid anyway posts. (I don´t relocate at every map)
