i'de really like the textures to align so that the diagonal hash marks line up in the same direction...
i tired 90, 180, and 270 rotations, no change (posative and negative directions)
any pointers?

That is officially the earliest critique I have ever seen in the map development cycle.
Now for some useful advice:
Try setting your scale to a negative value for the offending textures. This will cause the texture to invert and if nothing else, flow with the other textures. IIRC of course.
