    well here is the deal:
    You can just try and get HL running under Linux (most people simply wine it) and then stick ns 2.0 in the half-life/ns folder

    OR you can get Steam working under linux

    I don't know if there is a linux installer or not.
    I know people have gotten it working.
    I would suggest getting Steam working simply b/c you will eventualy HAVE to get steam working if you wana play NS.

    I would suggest PMing Talesin as he is a linux junkie
