(rr.org shot)
Merkaba, I simply can not get over how amazing the lighting in your most recent shot at rr.org is. That pipe looks hot! Would that be a custom texture or red lighting? Regardless, it looks awesome. The subtle yellow and red on the sides is just inspiring.
You've said recently that you feel a bit discouraged seeing all these other pictures of map shots here on the forums, but I can assure you that you've got nothing to worry about. This level is going to shock people when they see it.
I can't get over it, that shot is breathtaking. Great work.

Just keep learning and keep working!
Maybe somewhere else, but not in this community, Trane.
Instead A, B, and C will give you some great constructive criticism, and send you off on your merry way to worldcraft nirvana... or something. And then we will tell you to add more contrast.
I am often astonished by the breathtaking beauty of NS screenshots, but rarely discoraged.
To be D on your first map can be daunting, we've all been there.
What's bizarre is that my dad is actually a veteran Lighting Director. He's worked on lots of UK programs like Lovejoy, Last of the Summer Wine, Headless, Dr.Who, All creatures great and small, Dads Army...and most recently he's been working a lot on Casualty. But he's never actually taught me anything about lighting, so I guess I might have inherited the 'touch' or something. Quite bizarre...

Shouldn't that be 'encouraged' rather than 'discouraged' ? I find people who nail something really well encourage me !

That's an unintentional sideeffect. The pipe goes under the girders and theres two red lights down there, so I suspect the red light is creeping along the pipe. I never intended it to look as though it was heated up
