Greatest game ever!
Blizzard has just announced that they are doing a port/remake of one of their best and oldest games. None other than Rock N' Roll Racing! It used to be for the Sega Genesis, The game has a classic rock sound track melded with awesome gameplay, you take on the roll of a futuristic career racer. The camera is a little angeled top down. For each win you get money to upgrade every aspect of your car, from weapons to tires to treads to hovercrafts, all new chasis and paint. It will be for the Gameboy Advance, I suggest that everyone gets it.

Did it ever cross your little minds that it might be on TWO different consoles?

My little mind is just too small for such a thought

Oh, and on the issue of 'Interplay': It was usual at the time that only the publisher was mentioned.

I knew it was for both, his comment suggested that I was wrong and it was only for the SNES, and the Genesis version has a Blizzard logo on the box in the bottom corner, I am not sure if it has it at start up because I can get mine to start up........ oh well I will be playing it on my GBA soon enough.

Rock n' Roll Racing is a frikkin' awesome game. Although I didn't realize it at the time, that game was the first place I ever heard Black Sabbath. The graphics were really good for the SNES, too, and you just had to love the attitude of the game. Shame it was so easy, though

Blizzard was named Silicon & Synapse back then, working under the publisher Interplay...check it out on the Blizzard web site, just look for the "Anniversary" section. One of their first original games was also Norse by Norsewest, later renamed The Lost Vikings. I thought it was a great game, but not many people share that opinion...

Edit: Took some searching, but here you go. Interesting reading. I suggest it to everyone, Blizzard fan or no.

Rock'n Roll Racing, I had such fun times with tht game in the past. Blowing your oppenents out of the road with an arsenal of weapons plus the narrator says funny stuff when you die or fly out of the arena.

That isn't possible Nayr, because on the box of my Sega Genesis version it clearly has the Blizzard logo, not a Silicon and Synapse.....On another note, No one disses Sega in a thread I started! Sonic 0wnz m4ri0!

....except that nowhere in the SNES version does it ever mention Blizzard.

Clearly there are a lot of differences between the SNES and Sega versions, the biggest of all being (resists urge to flame sega) the uhhh... controller.

The Genesis was so much cooler looking than the SNES, it was black and sleek with all these sharp curves....made it almost look like a weapon. Plus it had Sega Channel, which had almost every Genesis game available for play via a cable connection. And lets not forget about VectorMan possibly one of the funnest games ever.
