Mapping Prefabs

Also I noticed lately, that people haven't never been into making maps with Totally New Textures(I.e Breaking off the NS theme, i.e to make somekind of map with for example stargate Theme). Here for Example a Teleporter Prefab, Transportation Rings from Stargate <a href='http://www.ejoop.com/pfl/showlist.asp?prefabid=1293&formtype=2' target='_blank'>http://www.ejoop.com/pfl/showlist.asp?pref...1293&formtype=2</a> . Also a Xen Portal Prefab <a href='http://www.ejoop.com/pfl/showlist.asp?prefabid=526&formtype=2' target='_blank'>http://www.ejoop.com/pfl/showlist.asp?pref...=526&formtype=2</a> ,people Customize Your Maps a bit, make things that can help tranversing around the map without marines need to build phase gates in every square!It would also be helpful if all buildings could be customized by the map, as the player models and weapons etc and customize how they act a bit(Ala Idea From Svencoop). More Maps that can be more than TSA Installations, we aren't alone in the universe you know. Alien Ships, Alien Installations, you name it. Just if it has a Kharaa Activity Going on there and TSA is interested salvaging possible new technologies there. Stargate themed maps would make very nice looking ones, as ya could use torches, ambient lightning without need to have lights as aliens could've discovered technology to make lights without a light on the roof or something. (Note This Post is about Maps, and customizing them further, just didnt fit in topic name limit).

    This is because in the mapping guidelines it says that making your own textures is no encouraged so that the levels STAY within the theme of NS, and not breaking it.

    Of course, this is only for those people who want their map to become official.

    Notice:Ya can change the res tower in your map without changing whole games res tower models(or was it node, but enyways). Idea How to Implement Custom Models for each map without changing whole game, make the game read on load, if theres models/<insertmapname>/player it would change the models for that map, if there would be models/<insertmapname> weapon models or building models it would change for that map. Would create nice variety if enyone bothers adding them to the map, but could potentially boost size of zip for the map by a bit..but it would be mappers choice to include them.     I think WE (mappers) showld be Enough imaginative with the textures thant the ns theme gives us nd i have been loking arround and i saw so STUPID textures that put the ns theme into trash. the same thing is paplied to prefabs, most of them are Stupid and useless but SOME are pre made Dificult objets/pieces of map somehow i think mapping is creating an for ns is special we create more and more respecting the theme NOT crushing it
