da penguïn project and potatoe energy
after the succesfull landing of the marslander people wanted to know more about it and they found it at www.nasa.gov, if you get there notice how smooth you can click yourself around and how fast the client-server requests are.
since nasa knows lots of people come and go on the site they have to run a linux server supported with apache to process those million clicking fingers.

we all know beagle2 did not make it cuz it crashed in a krater somewhere but it was running suse linux platform, it did not cause the crash cuz everything worked fine before the landing started.

this project can do good in later future, when mars colonisation starts.

(spudserver: some chip with linux on it, running a website powered by potatoes)

so if mankind is able to colonize mars we can build a giant potatoe growstorage on it and place some gardeners and so we can supply our computers running linux on free natural mars-potatoe energy
microsoft nerds say it's possible for windows aswell but i say it's less possible cuz windows tasks consumes maximum energy, since linux works in a lazy way of handling processes it can do longer with a battery or potatoe energy.

i'm I the only who believes in crazy unsupported 3th party projects?

no what I mean is that guys like u and me making projects with linux involved, I can't install linux on a chip with energy from potatoes while running a webserver!

here's CPIP, another (linux involved) project from some developers:
    http://www.blug.linux.no/rfc1149/

sony's robot dog project AIBO (linux involved or not i dunno)
    http://www.aibo-life.org/
    http://www.cs.tut.fi/~defee/muproj.html
    http://aibohack.com/

in my case I have astma and i'm allergic to animals, so i'm happy if I can buy a sony dog and with some luck without microsoft updates before my dog becomes unstable
