Which do you choose and why?
While in combat maps, once you get the experience, do you save it and wait to go lerk/fade/onos??? Or do you do all your upgrades first and then go to a better life form? Ive done both, but I cant decide on which one is more efficient and better for the team. Please post your thoughts

If you're dead set on using them, the best use for it is to spray an area (try hitting the ceiling above them to let it rain down on a group) and to occassionally switch back to weapon 3, now that it restores health and energy.
as for the original post, I usually get celerity and unlock 1 ability while I save for fade. If I know somebody will save for onos, I'll get focus as well. If I don't know for sure, that setup leaves my options open.
Once I've got fade I use meta quite often, and I'll get carapace before regen because of that.
Sometimes I'll trade carapace for focus, depends on what mood I'm in.
Celerity or leap gets you to the fight quicker meaning you can rack up more kills in less time. Carapace helps you live longer in a fight, increasing your chances of getting that 2nd/3rd kill. Focus with leap often makes you take less damage as they have less time to shoot you. All 3 keep you in the fight more, giving you more chance of getting XP.
I wouldn't recommend taking more than 2 upgrades before saving as you'll either start getting owned by shotguns/hmgs before you get to your desired lifeform or you end up having to wait for later levels which you don't achieve as quickly as the lower ones due to their XP requirements.
Leap is underused, and can really extend the usefulness of your skulk stage. I think it's actually better at taking out jps than lerks are. I'd get it as early as practical if you are going to want meta/acid rockets/stomp/umbra/primal. Focus->leap->celerity or focus->celerity->leap works well.
If you're gonna lerk, get primal by level 10! It will add far more to your team's efforts than trading it for a dc/sc/mc upgrade.
It's like spit with splash damage right now

first you spam accid. then you blink in and kill them since they all got like no armor.
Acid rocket serves the same purpose for me that gas does. It cleans out the armor on all those resupply marines so one focus bite does the trick.
lv2: leap
lv3: save
lv4: save
lv5: save
lv6: fade
lv7: regen
lv8: cara
etc.
or take focus as lv3 upgrade and wait abit with the fade.
- I'm deadly as a skulk
- Once I turn into whatever, it becomes extra deadly because it has upgrades.

I pretty much use the same upgrades for lerk and gorge as I do for fade. Keep in mind that this is my own combo, you might play different than me so don't start flaming me or anything.
My actual upgrade order varies greatly depending on the map, the skill of the opposing players, and the current situation.
Lv2: Focus
Lv3: Celerity (Sometimes I change it up, depending if the map is small or not)
Lv4: Save for Fade/Lerk (Again, depending if the map is small or not)
For the rest of the lvls, unlock Meta for Fade, and Umbra/Primal Scream for lerk (super fast healing gorges ). Get cara, regen, and any upgrade that suits my mood at the time.
I consider myself better at lerk than anything else, so I save as follows.
Good kill rate early (aliens get early advantage)
Lvl 1: Duh, no points
Lvl 2: Save
Lvl 3: Go lerk
Lvl 4: Get Adrenaline

Those are quite possibly the worst upgrade paths I've ever seen. wow. Why would yous 'save' your upgrades like that? Dear lord, what a miserable way to lose a game.
Anyhow, I usually lerk as alien, and I go:
save
save
lerk
celerity
regen
adren
umbra
focus
cara
silence
I don't get upgrades as skulk because of how the exp system works.
Your first level ups are your fastest, as each level up takes 50% more exp plus how much exp. you needed before to get a lv. up.
First 3 levels of the game come in about 4-6 kills, so really, it's best to save then.
I've heard of some people getting cloaking first and just sitting around battle areas while their teammates kill stuff. The strategy is so horrible and selfish I'm suprised I have not seen it around more.
The best path for lerk =
2) Focus
3) celerity
4) Save
5) Lerk
6) Adren
7) Umbra
8) Regen
9) Carapace
10) Scent of Fear, or silence. Whatever floats your boat. Or Primal scream, if you really want to be a decent player to your teamates.
Well this is what i use, and i had a score of 107 kills as lerk the other day, nearest person was a fade on 55
Edit: and by the way Jean Luc Picard. What good does it do to save all those points? Why not spend them as you get them, then its easier to earn more points after that!
0 upgrade skulks respawn faster in combat than 7 upgrade lerks do (I believe)
So get back in the action fast, and taqda! Faster EXP points
Also, it's a NASTY surprise for rines... if they think the entire alien team is gonna be Skulk, they'd quite possibly all go with grenade launchers... hehe, imagine their complete HORROR when suddenly the entire team has gone to lerk/fade/onii
That was true for 3.01.
However now I believe you all spawn at the same time, depending on the number of people on the server
3: Save
4: Fade
5: Regen
6: Cara
7: Celerity
8: Silence
9: Adrenaline
10: Unlock Meta
Im usually the #1 scorer on the alien side. I know how to Fade, even without upgrades. Blink lets me get back in the battle much faster than I could with a skulk, and stay there longer than a skulk. That simply leads to more EXP. When I hit 10, my teammates are still around 6 or so. By the time the rines whip out shotties en masse, I usually have both cara and regen, so im pretty hard to take down even if your a good shot. Celerity is of course, nice, as I can outrun marines when im trying to slice them down. Silence is incredibly useful, as many dont even notice when I just killed their friend right behind them. Adrenaline is nice as it ensures I wont run out of energy during the fight, and lets me move faster by being more liberal with blink. If I hit level 10, we've usually driven the rines back near their base, so meta lets me blink in, do damage, blink out, and heal very rapidly.
So always lifeforms first. I also get a JP before anything when im a rine.
If alot of jps start showing up before I go onos, I'll go fade, cara, regen, adrenaline, celerity, focus, and scent of fear. The ultimate in JP defense. Two swipes and you're out jper! DIE!
3:Save

5:Save
6:Go Onos
7:Get Carapace
8:Get Regeneration
9:Unlock next ability
10:Adrealine
I usually get:
celerity
next ability
save for fade
carapace
regen
Sometimes I throw focus in first, if I get it very early. Then you can use meta between swipes, if you like.
This lets you use the other 2 points for whatever seems useful. Maybe scent of fear/silence/focus. Maybe onos if nobody else on your team does that.

I don't think anyone cares how well you can do on a pub (no offense), but I will tell you one thing and that a fade without focus is far less powerful than a fade with focus.
Your upgrade path is bad.
If things start to go bad, I've got that one level saved to pop into gorge mode and start healing the hive.
I rarely go beyond gorge for evolutions, so usually wind up as a Super-Gorge, webbing my way to the command chair.
3.leap (free bite against a1)
4.save (maybe gorge if hive hp is low)
5.save (maybe gorge if hive hp is low)
6.fade (hard to kill if played right)
7.regen (very hard to kill ...)
8.cara (almost impossible to kill)
9.celerity (for hit and run attacks against cc)
10.silence (or choose something you like)
vanillas=fragfood
good against ha if you use hit and run
also able to kill jp with blink/swipe
best alien setup so far ...
