copy your \steamapps\nsp\*.* stuff to your original c:\sierra\half-life\ns directory and configure hammer and zhlt (or whatever you use) to use the original HL dir.

i don't really know if you need the old ns2.0 but if it's not working try first installing the 2.0 and then copy 3.0 over it and it wil work as written above.

nothing will change, it will work like the old way but without steam.

Apparently, you need to run steam, get the update, then select 'exit' from the main steam menu.

Once you start up steam again, it will give you the option of offline mode.
