Damage Table Any One?

<div class="IPBDescription">I miss them...</div> Remember those nifty tables where you can find out how many LMG bullets it takes to kill a skulk/fade/onos? There was one compiled by kitsune back in the 1.03 days. Just wondering if any one has taken the time to do one for NS 3.0 Beta 3 and if there is one, may I have the link to it? Thanks in advance.

Oh, before I forget, let me add the obligatory "I've used the search button". <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

this indeed would be neat, just think tho, if a lmg does 10 dmg per bullet and 500 per mag, and a shot gun does what was it, 12 per pellet and shoots 10 per shot, makeing it... 1060?

see if you can make one, make your own server with the "draw numric damage" option on, record how much damage a weapon does and record everythings health, and in time, you could make your own.

There's one for 3.0b2 at nssource, but it hasn't been updated for beta 3 yet.

EDIT: Or go to the link above this post. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Thanks for the useful link.
Just one noob question, does the number of hives you have affect the amount of damage you receive?

ie. 3 hives skulk with cara level 3 dies in 16 level 0 lmg shots whereas a 1 hive skulk with cara 3 dies in 13 shots.

    Yeah thats new in 3.0

Basically, armor on two hives absorbs more damage than armor on one hive.

    I think.

Hmm so the number of hives affects the number of abilities and the amount of damage your armour absorbs in 3.0? That's all?

In normal NS it also lets you drop another type of upgrade chamber just like always.

Does getting hive 2 and hive 3 abilities in CO actually increase the armor absorption or is that only in NS?

Honestly, I don't see the point in such tables. After a time, you can eyeball your kills, but knowing an exact number won't matter much anyway, since not every shot will hit, unless you're insanely skilled, the effect is the same. That is my view, at least. Sometimes the information is fun to know, but I find little practical use for it.

These tables are for fine-tuning strategies. Once I were happy with lvl 1 ammo upgrade but after watching similar table that time, I was enlightened like anyone else and decided to go for atleast two upgrades, if not three.
In combat I see most use of this, I dont much comm.
like fighting against fade. With lvl 1 ammo (no lvl0 shottie), It hardly notices point-blank shot. But when upgraded to lvl 2, youll get fade down solo with a good luck (with good luck I mean both: Not uberl33t14m4etc... fade, decend stage to hop around it and some accuracy). And even one blast hurts like hell.
With lvl 3, you dont need so much luck anymore.
But lvl 1 ammo is worthless, thats what it says basically.

Also I was wondering how much those cursed cows can take knife. It says 74 hits with cara3. Add there regen and I can already understand why he was running away from me after knifing a full minute. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I wanted to see how effective the upgrades were. Helps a bit in CO or when you are the comm and researching upgrades.

exactly. I've seen a few strategies from clans that go against the normal upgrade path because they did the math (along with me) to know what is realy effective or not.

I wouldn't trust this table. It says it takes 2 focus fade swipes to kill a lvl 1 armor marine which is wrong. It does however take 2 focus fade swipes to kill a lvl 2 armor marine.

    I <3 focus

    just my 2 cents

    I am right aren't I?

2 focus bites for an armor 1 marine is correct. It only takes one for a vanilla marine, though.

    He said swipes, meaing <!--emo&::fade::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/fade.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='fade.gif' /><!--endemo--> not <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif' /><!--endemo--> . I think the tables are useful... it's good to know that a shotty will kill a fade in 5 shots.

Normally armor is worth 2HP. At two hives it's 2.5, at three it's 3. So a non-carapace skulk would have 70+(10*2)=90 HP at hive one, and 70+(10*3)=100 HP at hive 3.

Also, if you get carapace as a skulk at hive 1, you're adding 40HP, but at hive 3 you're adding 60HP. Get cara for xeno runs!!!

And no, the hive abilities you unlock in combat do not affect these at all. In fact this system was implemented to try and add some balance between combat and classic (they had to nerf 3rd hive abilities because you could get them so easily in combat, but now getting 3 hives isn't worth much.. meh..)

I ran my sim and compared it to about 40 in game results, matched every time.

Instead of running sims try ingame shooting stuff until it dies than move on and shoot the next thing. It works pretty well.
