    I got Steam updated, but I had problems with my account. It seemed that my account had vanished into thin air, so I tried to recreate my account (using the same name). Everything went well (it didn't complain anything like the account name was in use, or something) until I tried to install HL to Steam. Now it says this. I've already mailed Steams tech support, but I'd really like to play NS this evening, since I don't have anything else to do <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Well the best thing to do is check their forums for stickies on how to fix this.
    Or you can just try to reboot, this seriously helped for me.

    Well it's orriginal I'll give you that.

    When did you try updating it? Steam network has been busy for ages with everyone downloading the patch. Tried again recently?
    Pick a time when america is offline.


    Steam support is pretty useless IMO. I sent them 5 emails and got no reply. At all.

    And as JezPuh said, steam forums would be a far better resource than the NS ones. esp. the "General Discussion" forum.

    Yep, it did the same to me. Whatever you do, <u><b>DONT</b></u> try to reinstall Steam. If you do that, you'll get to the same point where I am. Instead try to logout and login again.

    May I suggest going to the steam forums and actually posting your problem there and also sending an e-mail to their support?
