Rocket Crowbar Bot and WhichBot can provide you with introductory command experience. Install both, launch a game, set WhichBot to balance mode, add some RCBots to marine time, join marine team, and try to command the bots to victory. These bots are far from perfect. The RCBots tend to rambo a lot, don't know how to use phasegates, and have horrible aim. The WhichBot gorges will sometimes run around in circles in their hive and not build anything. RCBots are not affected by cloaking or stomp (they still fire while stunned).

Here's my experience with the bots posted above.

The bots could play both Marines and Aliens. They followed waypoints, built structures, and as aliens fortified the hive with a grip load of OCs and DCs. Skulk behavior was down right scary. Bunny hopping in groups around the map attacking with tenacity. They even took down my relocate attempt twice by 4 human players to reactor room in ns_tanith.

As Marines, the bots were moving around the map in groups around ns_nothing capping resnodes for me, building phase gates, and the occasional TF and turrets if coaxed enough.

The bots, though, has problems using ladders and alien gorges not capping RTs often enough. Though their skulk counterparts were aggressive patrolling the map and attacking marine start.

Combat mode behavior is ok, the aliens will be toe to toe with the human marines until they level up to gorges and then they're not as deadly anymore. Occasionally, an alien gorge will get enough res to fade and start killing marines again.

Their most interesting trait though, is their chat code. Very amusing, one of my teammates didn't realize they were bots until well into the 2nd game playing with them.

Bots are also good for practice. Start a LAN server, load up 10 or so bots and just kill as many as you can .

Enable cheats on LAN server and you don't need anyone on the other team to try out commanding and stuff.
RCBot is okay.. ish.. they don't move around combat maps much though, they just wait around in their hive, and the marines are about as useless. I do like the way they talk like idiots, though, heh.

i like those bots, although i found a problem with em.

when playing bots, the round wont end when all hives/bases are destroyed.

hehe i have great memories of RCBots. I think my end score as an alien gorge against the marines was around 200 kills 3 deaths? As a marines, im sad to say i got slaughtered by those damn skulks
