<div class="IPBDescription">Getting screwed over here</div> It REALLY bugs me. Some servers will kick you if you don't have cheating death. And some servers kick you if "Your computer has been modified..." That means cheats, but it also means CD! Not sure what anti cheat thing that is.

So between these two, I've been doing a LOT of closing ns and turning on/off CD. That or just a lot of going around to servers. They gotta standardize this stuff.

You don't have to close NS. At least, in the steam version, you can alt-tab and exit without losing your sound.

If you're playing on WON, I'm wondering how and why they kick you for using Cheating-Death. All I know is that Valve Anti-Cheat picks up CD as a cheat, so you have to be careful about that on Steam servers. I don't think WON NS can use VAC.

    -Edit... I suck at spelling.

So that's what the "Your computer has been modified..." message means. I was wondering about that.

All Seeing Eye can be set to run CD whenever you join a NS server that requires CD. It's that simple. I have never had a problem with not being able to connect to any NS server with CD running or on my computer. The only time I get errors is when I try to play DOD with CD running, and then I just close it and play.

At first I decided to give it a chance (back in the CS days), but people CD is complete bovine cr4p!!! Any small variable/command change can freeze your crosshair and stick ya with that "modified..." message. In CS all I had changed was the r_drawviewmodel (which is TOTALLY legal ... unless your in cal or something) and it froze my screen with that message. Same bull in NS (can't remember what it was this time... stpd thing won't even tell you what its booking you for). And I can honestly say I am not hardcore/leet nuff to know how to make serious bunnyhopping etc... scripts. CD is a waste of bandwith and is tighter than a ... well you know.... VAC is an old watch dog who licks the robber rather than bites him (pretty much useless)... were waiting for a third option here Valve??!

There was one that was really good but stopped getting updated cause the guy making it didn't have the time... from cs days... can't remember the name though.

Of course he didn't have the time, the rate at which cs h4x change would keep him at his keyboard coding forver, without enough time to so much as take a whiz.

C-D is fine, it is a bit to unrestrictive with scripts perhaps(e.g. _special exploit), but blocking r_drawviewmodel 0 is perfectly fine, it just makes too much of a difference playing without it in some MODs(I remember doing that a couple of times in 1.04, with the bigger muzzle sprite I was easily twice as good at aiming as a marine without it).

Simple - dont play on servers that use C-D

Ive always hated the damn thing. Causes nothing but problems. The occasional smacktard that comes along on a non C-D server is worth it.

Funny all decent cheats own VAC any time of the day.

    Um... update your CD.

This should be in the tech help forums, and also what you speak of is an old error that occured about a month ago when CD didn't work with steam because it thought steam was a cheat.

I just let Cheating-Death run, and i never have Problems.

The "My Leg is broken; mine works fine-Joke"

Yeah, but i never saw a Server that kicks me for having CD on.

Punkbuster! Yes yes! It's still around? How is it? It had died last time I checked, but that was in my cs days.

I just updated cd... and havent had the problem yet so I guess it was solved. I'm crossing my fingers here.

Last I checked, PB was used in RtCW and RtCW: ET multi. That's about all I've heard of it. I guess it works, played both for several months and never saw a cheater. Even though it's easy to own in that game... Semi-realism seems to like me more than realism or non-realism. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I remember the good old ET days, people worked together.. Medics were revered and given ammo... Engys got cover, covert ops were actually used to win the game and not increase one's score/ego.... Panzerlamers didn't exist and if they did, they died fast. The FieldOps weren't stingy with ammo... Hell, I think I was one out of maybe a dozen people that could get the mortar to work. It was hella good if you knew how it and regular mortars worked. Not to mention that where it landed showed up on the limbo map. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> Ahhhh, the good ole days...

Loads of cheats get thru CD undetected, just not QUITE as many as VAC tho, but then CD has the added inconvenience and cpu usage...

Servers without CD are better in then end (imHo), just accept there will always be cheats, and get demos recorded for matches...

    Not to mention how CD can be bypassed <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif' /><!--endemo-->

CD has a great additional filtering function: It keeps away "keyboard using handicapped" players and "mentally challenged" players from certain servers. Only people who prefer playing with regulars or other guys using CD on a server promote teamwork and usually a good game.

Of course admined no CD servers are similar...

The downside is: Servers fill slowly
