Video/pc Games Get A Good Rap For Once
So with all the negative news storys out against video/PC games I thought this would be a good breath of fresh air.
It seems my hometown of Rochester NY, has a good standing with the video game scene.
The largest daily news paper the "Democrat and Chronicle" has run several stories about games. All of them are pretty positive too.
Of note: The University of Rochester a major medical cancer/AIDs reserch center released a study on how video games can be used to help re-establish hand eye cooridination in stroke victims and people with epilepsy etc. Fast paced games such as GTA3 and Medal of Honor Allied Assault were used to test reaction and cooridination levels of gamers and non gamers lol. gee guess who did a lot better.
Also just this week the city helping to sponser a huge HALO deathmatch tournament to help raise money for local charities and other medical research projects.
Gamers pay a $25 entrance fee to enter a double elimination 4 player deathmatch lol. The winner gets an iPod.
Other sports games such as madden football are also going on around the year in local bars and clubs too.
