Without Steam

I was wondering can the game be played without steam seeming i lost my account name and i dont know how to recover it...

I'd like to know if this is possible also.. I have a steam account, I just hate steam, and I'd rather run Halflife the good old-fashioned way.

to give you an idea:
there are 8 NS3.0 Servers on WON.

Eventualy won will die, and you will HAVE to play on steam (if you ever wana play HL again).


Now, as for HOW to do it:
There is an installer out there somewhere (I don't care enugh to search through)
Tale, all you have to do is install NS3.0 beta and then copy the NSP dir over to your WON install of HL.
