    The exact parameter string is going to depend on the generation shape, but if you set the initial velocity to 0 0 10, the particles will float straight up at 10 units/second.

    EDIT: have you tried playing with the particle system editor that's linked from the FAQ?

    sweet, i totally forgot about the PSEdit.

    i got it to do what i wanted it to do basically this morning fooling with it, except I was wanting one more thing...

    can i make the 'bubbles' zig/zag a little on the way up? now they only..'pour' out in a spray pattern:

    \\||//
    .\\//
    ...|

    but i was looking for:

    --->^
    ^..<--
    --->.^

    ya know?

    Unfortunately, you can't do that at the moment -- it would require setting an acceleration on the bubbles, which the system doesn't currently allow.

    This is kind of off-topic, but I'm having trouble with the PS editor.

    It loads fine and I can import systems fine, but when I create the systems, nothing displays in the preview. It shows how many systems I have active/loaded along with how many particles there are, but I don't see the actual system. I've tried changing every OpenGL setting for my graphics card I can think of, and nothing works.

    This is all on a GeForce FX 5200 by the way...

    if you're running XP, i'd rollback your drivers, or find the next older versions and try.
