<div class="IPBDescription">Is it possible to...</div> Ok, as some of you may know, I work on my maps in 2 ways.
When possible, I use my dad's PC, which is my MAIN mapper (has HL, NS, and STEAM on it)
However, at school I have some spare time (like study hall) so I can work on it there via my lap top... only problem is, I currently can't put HL/NS/STEAM on it due to memory restrictions (I might be able to in about 2 months... but I'm working on the school web-page via my lap-top cause I'm representing the school at a computer show)
So, my question is:
Can I transfer a map FROM my lap top TO my dad's PC, touch it up and add entities and the like, bring it BACK to my laptop, work on it some more, and then go BACK to my dad's PC to compile (when it's ready)?
I would do the entities on my lap top... but I can't since I dun have NS/HL/STEAM installed... 0o"

either that or use a disk
-just make sure you have the same wads that you use on both computers.

You must be mad, did you ever look at a .map file???
That would be WAYYYY too much trouble.VERY bad idea.

Anyway, I does this often between home and work. I don't have HL installed at work but I keep a copy of all necessary mapping files and just transfer my .rmf files through email. Of course, that's much easier with a high speed connection.

If so, that'd be freaking AWSOME dude!
Also, you need the NS .fgd to map. But surely you know that by now. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
You sure you have WC setup correctly?
Heh, forgot somthing?
Anyway, when you set up hammer/WE the area where you put in all the file locations really only has to do with if you compile the map from inside hammer/WE.
All you should need to do is place the .fgd .map (or rmf) and hammer/WE. Double check that you have it set up right, make sure you specified the right path to the .fgd etc etc.
