<div class="IPBDescription">saaaaave!</div> I spent the best part of a hour making what (in my mind) was an awesome bit of tunnel.
I try to compile it and... where's the file?
Open up hammer and go to last where i see my map "test." Try and open it and weeee... the file doesn't exist.
Open up my folder and see that the file is there but it is simply "test" no extension just a file.
I rename it test.rmf and it just says i'm trying to open a file from version 0.0 and i'm running hammer 2.2 or something.
WTH! Anyone else get problems with actually saving anything? Not cool.

Never just compile, ALWAYS save before you compile ... as you should save often ... and with different filenames, i.e. mymap01, mymap02, mymap03 ... I do that before any major changes and after any bigger compile, just in case I mess things up <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

That's the problem. I did save it before. It's not because i tried to compile. Anyway it still doesn't work.. i reinstalled.. got the beta. It saves the file but not as a specified VHE file like rmf. This happens to me alot too... but I have many partitions and so I usually chalk it up to a bad sector or something... I really don't know what to tell you, except, did you export a MAP file? You should always do that... I remember one time [moment] I was making a movie on Final Cut Pro and I exported to a save file and it became corrupt and there wasn't anything I could do about it, I spent hours working on this video and it was just gone, bleh, you see Final Cut doesn't export the timeline and then refrence it through the project file like alot of media editors it just holds the timeline inside the project file, which means if you lose your project file, you lose everything basically... anyway... that was way off-topic... Losing things sucks, so be smart... back **** up and don't let your map become the next Nancy... or Fenris.... :|

i can't export a file witha a file extention either. I mean it saves as file.map but just wont open. Hammer just hates me it seems.
