Pentium 5 Processor

<div class="IPBDescription">Anyone know when this is coming out?</div> I was wondering if any of you have info about when the next processor is coming out of Intel. Will they continue the Pentium line and make a fifth one, or will they start a whole new line of processors? I ask because I have an older computer (Pentium 3) and am beginning to enter the market for a new one. I don't want to buy a computer now and in a month see a new cutting-edge product come out. Any info would be apreciated.
BTW, I searched Intel's website but they are very vague on the matter.

Same here, I'm stuck on if I should go with a nice 3.2 ghz 800 fsb pentium 4, or go into the market for an AMD 64, because they look quite sechtsy. But I get the feeling that when Intel releases their new CPU that it is probably gunna lay the smack down on AMDs chips... And I hate falling behind on these kinds of things...

It might be to your advantage to wait for said processor to come out AND THEN buy the one you WOULD have bought now. I.E. buy a slightly outdated processor the second it becomes outdated, so that you can take advantage of the price drop.

No way, I'm going to buy a pentium 5 as soon as it's released, so I can play my text-based MUDs and word-process even faster than before! I'll be uber-leet!
