plz dont compare original SC or BW with SC: Ghost, that game is a bastardization of the original.... hell, look at the goliath <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Just played with some pattern overlay in PHotoshop. I think it's an original pattern that came with the program. It looked like a chrome pattern. Don't mean to hijack with a reskin or anything, just showing what a 1-2 minute job in Photoshop can change to the skin.
I have all the respect for this gun and the result of all the work put in it. I mean no disrespect.

yeah the turrets are air defense only, but irl what would stop them from shooting at the ground? The marines dont have grenade launchers in the game either.
Actually, I was watching the intro movie. I noticed after the two zerglings were smoked and you get a close up of the dude sitting down, you can see the bottom barrel part of it smoking, so maybe they do have grenade launchers, just not usable in game....
They have grenade launchers.... like the battle on the Amerigo science vesssel, one of the rines fires a damn nade at the hydras.... <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I don't think anyone really knows where the magazine is... the bizon type helical magazine is the most convenient, but we know now that it's a grenade launcher under there!
This gun does not particularly look like a gauss rifle to me, although granted a definate layout is spotty at best, givin the conflicting information concerning it, so it's easy to take artistic licence <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Yeah, and how long ago did they come up with the idea for it? Well I still think it an awsome model. All I need now are the heavy model version and sprites....
douchebagatronCustom member titleJoin Date: 2003-12-20Member: 24581Members, Constellation, Reinforced - Shadow
im sure there is someone out there who is willing to do sounds, sprites, and heavy models for this. i would do the heavy models but my milkshape trial ran out and i cant import or export smds or mdls in max 6.

Im sorry, but for as long as I've been waiting for a guass rifle im not a fan of this one. Don't get me wrong, excellent model, but 2 things really make it look bad: the animations and the origins. For the origins, hes pointing the gun too far to the left. Good origins are when the barrel of the gun is parallel with your line of sight, or when its just slightly pointed to the left. For the animations, it looks like the reload animation is like he's sliding a credit card through the reload slot. My suggestion would be better origins, and instead of a huge long clip, make it 2 clips; he presses a button and a clip falls out from underneath at the same time te groove things slide back, then he puts in the new clip.
