<div class="IPBDescription">combat map I'm working on...</div> Alright so I figure I've gotten enough of this map done to give you guys a preview. Currently the theme seems a bit scattered and I plan to try to make things look a little more consistant throughout the map, but I'm quite happy with what I have right now. Please keep note that a lot of this is due to heavy change (especially the lighting)

Marine Start:

Shaft right outside of marine start. I've been told it looks a lot like kestrel's shafts but I think it looks better >:]

Every ns map needs a nice view of the environment:

    Good work! You're right - the shaft looks a lot better than Kestrel.

    The shaft looks ok, but the lighting there is extremely boring. Looking good otherwise though.

    In the first pic, behind the cc the blue light. I suppose you are using texlight there. I'm just wondering how did you do it so only the light giving part emits light? I have been trying to get the same effect but doesn't only light the "lamp" part but it lights the whole texture. btw. your map looks cool and I don't think the shaft looks too much like the one in kestrel.     The lighting in the last pic is unfinished. The room isn't even completely done yet. But I'm really DON'T want feedback like "lighting blows" or "I like it!". In no way can I improve the map from these comments. Suggestions are much more helpful.

    personally, i think the lighting is rather good. The lighting in the last pic, would be wonderful in my opinion if you removed/changed/or toned down the lighting around that door. It seems to clash sharply.

    I have nothing else about the lightning, bur i would have made the shaft darker. And other things on the map.. The map is not broken at all, Hive doesn´t have any kind of infest and the hive place looks kinda non exciting..

    The comments are getting better... I'll work on this some more and have some updates a little later in the weekend.

    I'm a little disappointed with the first few screenshots, as they're WIP I'll let them go <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo--> Although I think a few computer monitors and maybe some height variation in the MS wouldn't go a miss.

    The last two screenshots are alot more like the Lazer we like. Way out of marine spawn looks fantastic, spot on there. Maybe add some more detail to the ceiling? Supports or even a skylight?

    The hive is really nice, I like the feature on the left with the grate and wall. Nice colour coming out of their too. Nice hive position, really tight to give maximum defense, would also be nice to see tonnes of infestation in that hive. Go all out, like the Bast Refinary remake ^_^

    Now their's some useful feedback. MrBen gave me some ideas for the ceiling on that ramp. He said extend the caution stripes out across which is looking like an improvement... I might toy around with a skylight as well since that seems like a good idea now that you mention it. The shot of the hive doesn't really show the infestation where the hive is but you bring up a point I should probably have more visible anyway. Marine start was the first part of the map I made and it probably needs the most work right now. I'll try messing around with computer terminals like you suggested.

    Ok, more feedback now while I got time.

    The outside is too red, looks like someone painted red over all those textures, tone it down to a reddy orange, or possible make some shaow?

    The kestrel like shaft, a no go area. Kestrel may have some of the worst looking lighting but it doesn't lack detail, the shaft you have is very little detailed. Try using a pipe texture or even some curved pipes being on the walls. Another nice little bit of detail you could add there is some hanging wires as you go up to top of the ladder, very atmospheric.

    Updated pictures. I still haven't gotten around to working on the shaft but I wanna try and get everything in the map connected first before I continue making things look better.

    and maybe in the unfinished hive place, u could change to 'icky hive looking stairs'
    to a ramp ? looks strange to have those stairs in a hive room, but overall its great.
