Holy S***.
Wow. I just played the demo. Wow. I hated Splinter Cell 1. It...well, missions sucked, story didn't get started until the bajillionth mission, and it barely ran on any system except the XBox.
But Pandora Tommorrow...wow. First off, it performs great. Second off, the demo mission is freaking AMAZING. You guys gotta try it.
Basically, your on a train. You have to get to "Soth"- the general badguy guy thing. And you wouldn't believe how hard it is to make it from one side of a train to the other.
Just try the demo www.splintercell.com- it rocks.

Any idea what settings can be changed or 3rd party programs can be run to get the demo to think a GeForce2 is a GeForce3?
Well, Fileplanet has it.
And Marek, I'm sorry, your out of luck.
And yes, the MP for it sounds GREAT! In fact, I'd say its everything DOOM wants Stealthmod to be.

Then again, it's probably just *part* of a full mission, seeing the demos of the first Splinter Cell.
As for the singleplayer's negative aspects, each level is too linear and short, the AI is touchy (at the end of the train level, a guard ran through the wall to attack me) and controlling Fisher is not fluid enough to effectively cope with the active demands the fast-thinking stealth gameplay places on you.
Kudos for roping Michael Ironside in to lend a voice to the protagonist though.

Mine did too. With all the stuff I was hearing on news sites I was beginning to wonder if anyone else had that second level or not :P
SC:PT multiplayer looks very very interesting, but there's a 4 player limit, even on the PC version. :(
And for the record, SC:PT is *NOT* everything I want Espionage to be. In fact if I were pegging it to one particular game it'd be more Metal Gear Solid 3 than Splinter Cell. But we're not trying to just copy some other game, we're trying to make Espionage unique and of its own worth.
Ah yes, there IS a second level. And yeah, AI seemed...I dunno. Dumbed-down. But thats better than the way it was before, with the "OMG I can see through walls, shoot through walls, and make grenades appear out of thin air because this is NORMAL MODE!" crap the first one had.
Oh yeah, reason why the 2nd level was never mentioned: It ended...prematurely, and...stupidly.
I'm really tired of this "bigger is better" mentality in online gaming. Just because you have more people shooting at each other with bigger guns does not mean you have a fun game. Larger games leave less room for individual players to actually contribute to the success of their team; while more players does mean more room for teamwork, it more often than not simply creates more chaos.
Smaller games are much more personal and intense. Stalking and hiding become more important, and you can almost feel the enemy when trying to predict his moves. Instead of trying to coordinate with only a few members of your massive team, every member becomes essential, and every encounter is that much more decisive. All in all, it's waaaaay more fun.
Just think of how crazy it would get if your only team mate left... you'd be all alone.
I think 6 or 8 would have been a much better idea, but i haven't played it yet, so we'll have to see.

Help me.
edit: I just make it hard for myself though. You know, sneak around, disable the mine, disable IFF on the turret, so it kills the soldier. Take a look at the two guys in the next spot, sneak around, kill both silently with no alarm. Couldn't find a way to kill the 2 at the table without setting off the alarm though, so I just got the last guy while he was sleeping.
What you aren't supposed to kill them if you can avoid it?
darn. (That would be too easy)
The whistle action is great for disabling guards - just pull one away from his buddies, then divide and conquer.
And for no reason they changed Fishers face model. I noticed it in the demos second level that it barely looks like Fisher in SC 1. But Michael Ironside is still his voice actor, right? Right?
[EDIT] As for the multiplayer, I also think 4 players is too few. 8 would be good. And I also have my doubts with multiplayer in sneaking games [/EDIT]
edit: not to mention I only saw a single grab interaction but it went away too quickly, how close do you have to be?
I'm pretty sure it's Fisher, since Grim-(forgot the rest of the name) and Lambert call him Fisher (and Sam) during the second mission
That's Anna Grimsdottir.
