    func_tracktrains need a path_track entity. The path_corners are for func_trains.

    edit: btw, this should go in Mapping Help <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    oops i didnt know there was a mapping help :/ thanks <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    yeah i do use the path_track , but as soon as i link them my train disapears :/

    oh and the other thing i wanted to ask was, can i use a tracktrain with controls for a lift that goes up and down? so i would have a controllable lift that is capable of stoping anywhere along its path

    Uhh, not sure, it should be possible, but if it's an NS map it might cause problems/be abusable by the commander.

    However, I'd recommend either a func_train or a func_door. func_trains can be stopped anywhere with a button aswell and they are more simple.

    And of course, trains need an included brush covered with the "origin" texture (any texture that is called "origin"), that is to define the center of the train, eg. the point where path_tracks or path_corners will cross ... hope that's clear <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I've gotten a func_tracktrain to work in a standard NS map, though it wasn't controllable. It was just a cargo assembly line that moved large crates across a room and around a corner.

    func_tracktrains are mostly for horizontal trains, and specifically for ones that need to curve around corners and go up elevations at angles. For elevators you should use normal func_trains because they're easier to control and you can be more precise with them. Look up the elevator tutorials at the VERC.

    If I may interject a question...

    Is the train automaticly controllable by "using" it? Do you have to be facing the Origin brush? Is there something else you have to do? Is func_traincontrols just for controlling trains remotely?
