Where Are All The Steam Servers?

Steam servers gone?
Hello to the NS community! Long time player but new to the forums.
That said, I'd like to know where all the STEAM servers have gone? I log in at various times of the day, but still only 1-2 servers are visable at a time, with no players in them. I'd like to know if theres a server list that I can plug into Steam somehow, or a solution to using the Steam interface for my NS3beta games.
I just hope it isn't a matter of players losing interest....

Thanks

Check your filters, make sure everything is disabled.
Check if you have the newest client version of Natural Selection.

It's not the filters for sure. All I filter is for NS games. I currently have NS Classic(2.01) and the new Beta. The problem is for the Beta as I get around 25 servers for classic.

Gee, that'd be just AWFUL if Steam weren't available anymore... I've been clinging to WON, still trying to get STEAM to work. Haven't tried this morning, but I've had plenty (like almost 100?) of STEAM servers showing up over the weekend.... almost all of 'em are empty, of course, as opposed to the couple dozen WON which are all at least half-full.

Yeah, so maybe it's just a lack of interest in the game now. Whatever happened to the 100+ servers I used to get on WON??

I'd venture that STEAM is working for a lot of people (I ain't one of them), and many of the server admins have switched over in anticipation of STEAM working for Everyone. Which, IMHO, probably isn't going to happen before driving lots of players away. I mean, yeah I know it's all FREE (xcept HL to begin with) so we don't really have room to kvetch, and NS3 is still a Beta, but Jeez... how much crap do we have to DO to our computers, for STEAM to work as well as WON consistently? For me, at this point, when WON goes down I'll give it one last clean, from-the-bottom-install try, and if it STEAM still refuses to work, adios NS I guess....

I am counting areound 500 beta servers....

admitadly only about 100 of them have poeple in them atm...

well, there are pleanty of servers out there.

so if you are not picking any up, then something is messed up.

Again, poke at all of your cinfigs (including your filters)

or try using the All Seeing Eye, or similar server browsers (I recomened ASE b/c I like it)

It must be the way I installed it or something. I dont't use any filters execpt "NS servers" and I've tried using many 3rd party apps to find servers.

    DAMN YOU STEAM!!!

    Are you using cable/dsl/modem?

    OS? Any spy/spam/firewall software running?

I had similar problem about a year ago with software called Secret Maker.

I am using cable with Linksys router, no firewall software, but NSW running. OS is XP-Home.

You may have a problem with your ISP blocking certain site. Try to ping some NS servers.

If you are using XP, go to start>run> and type cmd then enter. At command prompt type ping then the address. Here are some ns server addresses:

    66.208.107.78
    160.36.182.89
    69.72.130.242
    66.98.130.135

after typing the address hit enter. It should look like this:

    ping 66.208.107.78

You should receive message stating reply from with stats. If you get message that Ping request could not find host then contact your ISP. To test to make sure you are doing it properly type the following:

    ping yahoo.com

or someother website you know works.
