<div class="IPBDescription">Sign up or die.</div> You heard me. <a href='http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/item205.html' target='_blank'>Go go go! or <b>die</b></a>. I'm serious, I <i>will</i> kill you if you do not sign up.
actualy thats not realy a open beta im in the closed beta right now i preordered the game and was one of the lucky 10 percent to get in the reason this game is so fun is because of all the random crimes going on the game takes place in a giant city with hazard zones which are hardcore hunting grounds plus you can also get quests from contacts throughout the city plus while running around town you see random crimes that you can stop like criminals mugging some one or trying to steal a car or breaking into a house its very fun game but if you dont like MMORPGs this aint for you
Bah, when you said "open beta has started" I thought you meant "open beta has started", not "there's a closed beta starting in 2 weeks that they are taking sign ups for"
:(
You got me all excited for nothing. I'm now going to hit you in at least 3 knees.

I was on the WoW Forum (yes, there was only one back then) around June of 2003. Not as old as the old timers, but still pretty old.
Back then, spam was rampant. 0_oDruggy and SchoolBoyTim2 could flood the entire page within seconds. The only people the fools worshipped were GFraizer and MHein. Flame wars would rage for days, and the "Mmmm, Berries" thread was a legend. All would have fun during midnight spam-fests, where any topic went. There was no moderation, we still had a post count, and a precious few posters were respected. Everytime you refreshed the page, topics would jump up. It was more like IRC than a forum. It was great...
Then the "Beta Jumpers" came.
Idiots asking questions answered in the F.A.Q. were everywhere. None of them payed homage to the old, wise posters. People critisized FOR_KHAZ_MODAN's (whom I now talk to over MSN) yell, without ever reading his well thought out and insightful posts.
Then the Alpha leak. Oh, what an adventure that was. Supporters, flamers, neutrals; quite interesting indeed. Eventually, it got to me. I had to do it. I downloaded the Alpha and the sandbox needed.
That, however, wasn't bad. I saw what the world looked like (thats all you COULD do), and enjoyed it. Then I made a really, really stupid mistake: I posted my leaked screenshots on the forum. Perhaps it wouldn't have been so bad, except the character in the screenshot's name was "Mantrid".
After that, I was perma-banned. Not just my account, but my IP. I can see the forums, but I can't log in; not with any account.
Ah, well, I shall look back upon those 1 AM all-around spam-fests with fondness.
don't worry... it's from the people who brought you diablo. It's not like you could miss much except yet another MMO with different graphics <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I just know, somehow, you'll be forced to play it, and you'll love it more than strawberry meringues. Karma will get j00, Gemi! Your cynicism will not damper my spirits! *stares at email inbox, waiting for the beta email that will never come*

Is this 'open beta season because gem has a job and so less time to play' or what? XD
