Heya everybody, I'm new around here <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I'm new to the online side of Natural Selection, but me and my friend have been playing one on one over a LAN connection for a few months and im hooked <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I just wondered if there are any other newbs that want a one on one, or two on two match?

I find it quite an interesting way of playing, but some people find it boring, so if no replies then i'll try to find a server like a normal person <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Hullo! Welcome to the game.

    Find a server like a normal person <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->. Seriously, NS isn't built for 1 on 1 (maybe you could get away with it in combat, but that's different). It's much more fun with about 8 aside.

    But it is fun to play like 3on3 or 2on4 (aliens would easily win with taht many people) but if your intressted just pm and we could set something up or u could practice with more people

    I wonder, how did you play 1v1? Was it all Combat?

    Nope, Natural Selection 2.0.

    One player as marines, one as kharaa.

    Alien runs around evolving, building, and spreading, and the marine builds a base then tries to expand and take over the alien. it does take a while tho...lol

    still, teamwork has it's attractions. I'll find a server or some people to play with tonight, i think...

    If you play I'd recommend the g4b2s server #1 (www.guns4back2school.com for info). I play there regularly (as SMAT.BaBoUnD) and I especially like the "night crew" (usually from 11:00PM-2:00AM CST) since we're all pretty good players, and not coincidentally, pretty n00b-tolerant. Be warned, though, the server is full most of the time; even though you'll see 28/29 on the server at most times, the 29th slot is a reserved slot. I'd be happy to get on and "show you the ropes", so to speak. Cya!

    I've relocated on ns_hera to the old double siege spot, and sieged their two hives.

    On a 1 vs 2 game. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    But yeah, ns is meant to be played with 12 players, not 3. Combat is ok 1 on 1, but once you get the first 3kills, you've usually got enough experience to be able to destroy the other player entirely.

    There are some servers meant entirely for n00bs/learners, but they tend to attract vets too. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    I recommend getting into a server with low pings and 12+ players <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Every time we play NS classic 1on1 the host goes alien, types sv_cheats 1 and gives himself lerk and devour...not quite as funny as marine though <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Anyway, I can say that if NS didnt exist in large servers 10+ on each team, I prpbably wouldnt have played it as much by far. I stronly recommend a newbie server to get the thing started, and then as I said, a lerge server with good ping ...

    Hi Demoneye.

    We run a small (6v6 max) n00b friendly server every Friday 7 till whenever (GMT).

    You and your pal are more than welcome to join.

    At the moment we run Combat only as a way for peeps who have never played before to get a feel of the game but in the next few weeks we will be mixing in a few of the easier to learn full maps.

    I cant promise an intense game but it will be fun and hassle free.

    Drop into irc for password. #[o]korps on Quakenet.
