<div class="IPBDescription">:0</div> <b>Valve Announces Half-Life 2 Release Date</b>
Valve, LLC is proud to announce the release of single-player Half-Life 2 within the next three weeks, with multiplayer and modification support to be released after demo at the Electronic Entertainment Expo of May 12-14, 2004. "We realize that we have caused some consternation about release dates for HL2 and even about the possibility that it will never be released," said Gabe Newell, founder and Managing Director. "As a compromise, we have decided to release the single-player missions in expectation that multiplayer and modding support will come soon thereafter." The single-player package will be offered at a reduced price, with a voucher for a discount on multiplayer and mod support to provide for a single price point for both single-player buyers who later also purchase the multiplayer and mod packages and those who elect to wait for the full package.

I hope this wasn't an April fools... although it probably was <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
EDIT - the fact that theres no "this was edited on blablabla" on your post, even though you include [edit] [/edit] tag thingys means your playing with my mind.... and that makes Jimmeh sad <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->
That or putting up the release info, and then pulling it down when the date for the SP mission release was pushed back. Again. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->
(edit) I'm also thinking this was an april fool, as the first post has an 'edit' notation, but the post does not list 'edited by X at Y' currently, as my post does, just below this line. Or at least, it didn't at the time of this writing. CRUSH, KILL, DESTROY!(/edit)
my god if this were true i would be so damn happy, i would pass out, wake up and pass out again.
i would also become 100% antisocial
I beat you to it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Also there is no press/news button on valve's site.
and the directory /press/ does not exist.
40104 = 4/01/04 = April 1st, 2004 = today = April Fool's day. Glad I'm not the only one to see that.
