I was going to post an image of the world's largest ball of twine, but seeing the actual image after playing Sam & Max is rather disappointing.

Didn't the Titanic have tons of these, on a much bigger scale?

Whoa. Before I read this I was going to post about a 69 litre diesel truck but this thing just pwnt it. It's huge!

Titanic was a steam engine, iirc.

So are most large ships, like the super-carriers. Now days its all like that, find the most advanced and expensive way to boil some water.

This is a diesel engine, you know, your suck-bang-blow engine. Dont know much about diesel <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo--> But I assume they are 4-stroke aswell. Where as your titanic, that burns coal, boils water, makes things spin

As is our ozone isn't dead enough already...

A diesel powerd rocket ship perhaps?

it's apparently like twice as efficient as a car... but, yes, what is it for? :>

    It's for boats apparantly o.o

the engine probably isn't as big as it looks... after all those are asians working on it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    108,920 hp at 102 rpm

If you guys didn't get this was fake at this point I weep for you.

Just because it has a "low" RPM does not mean it cannot have that much horsepower o.o.. this thing is powering a very very wide driveshaft....

yeah, saying a low RPM, high power machine is impossible is like saying an oil tanker going 20 MPH has less kinetic energy than a racecar going 200 MPH...
  • dr_ddr_d Join Date: 2003-03-28 Member: 14979Members
You do relaize that's 100 thousand horsepower right? That would mean it would get about 1 million horse power at 1000 rpms.
  • DiscoZombieDiscoZombie Join Date: 2003-08-05 Member: 18951Members
but there's no way to make gigantic pistons move that fast. frankly I'm surprised they get 100 RPMs...
  • OttoDestructOttoDestruct Join Date: 2002-11-08 Member: 7790Members
Uh... I'm more skeptical about the torque than RPM's....

i believe it, the only reason car engines turn that fast is they was 1/092384750239487502394857 the amount that does and are 1/0295780947 the size of it.

    (yes those figures are exact) <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

My mouth waters looking at it!
I start drooling and and feel all warm and fuzzy thinking about a land vehicle with this huge masterpeice of engineering under the hood.

Then I think..... how big of an engine can we build before it starts warping and breaking under its own weight?
*falls over on floor drooling with seizures and foaming at the mouth at the sight of such a monstrous......thing*

How much does it cost? Doesn't matter, I'll take three!
    GIMMIE!
