STILL a pain in the butt
Ok, I have 5 rooms done, but I still can't figure this cargotruck1.wad problem out...

Soylunt Green (I think that's the name I'm bad with names) sent me a "fake" one of those that he made... I incorporated it... nothing doing, still doesn't work...

Has ANYONE had this problem before?

Does ANYONE know how to fix it?

I've tried everything I can think of... I've asked here before... nothing is working... unless this can be fixed, I can't make a map period...

I've tried:

Marking that texture
adding a fake .wad to the textures list
searching my HD for it before hand (it didtn' exist till it was made by SG)
reinstalling hammer

any other ideas?

0--- I am now trying changing ALL the textures (via select all) to ONE that I know exists... let's hope that works..

I quote myself cause i said that the other thread you made, but im not sure if you gave it a try, and i think it could solve your problem.

I think I asked this in one of the other threads. If you simply create a new map, make a box room and a light and try to compile it does it still complain about that wad file? If it does then it is nothing map specific and the problem is very, very weird, whatever retexturing you are doing would surely fail.

I tried that.. it still b*tched about it...

I'm bout to do a 100% windows re-instal... using a giant electro-magnet to reformat the HD also sounds good right about now... hehe

Use the wad autodetect for poo's sake. And if that doesn't work, send me your .map file. Or, open up your .map file, and find where the textures are listed, and remove the cargotruck.wad from the listing.

    {
    "mapversion" "220"
"wad" "J:\nsmapping\zhlt.wad;J:\nsmapping\decals.wad;J:\nsmapping\liquids.wad;J:\nsmapping\ns2.wad;J:\nsmapping\ns.wad" <------ Its in this line somewhere, just remove it
    "classname" "worldspawn"
    "classname" "worldspawn"
    .
    .
    .

    Open up Hammer.

Click Tools -> Options -> Textures

Scroll through the list of wad files and find that cargotruck1.wad that's giving you problems and remove it. If it's not in the list then you should uninstall Hammer and reinstall it from scratch.
