<div class="IPBDescription">Nothing will make this work</div> Well, I've tried for a few weeks now to get this to help, and many of you on here have been very helpful... but this problem seems to have us all stumped...
I'm going to be leaving mapping indefinately UNLESS I can convince my dad to let me re-format my HD and install XP pro (it's still under warrenty so... he's beind stupid about it...)
If any of you have any last ideas that may help... e-mail me with em plz? I'm wiped... this issue has me bummed and frustrated... so yeah...

Anyway, good bye Jean. Hope you get it fixed, mapping is very fun when it works the way you want it to <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->
BTW, why reformat?
I did a 100% removal, a 100% re-install... nothing. Didn't work.
I'm going to re-format regardless of what my @sshole father says... stupid tard that he is... I hope he drops dead...
Anyway <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> yeah, I'll be back..
Perhaps I should give Quark a try... does it work with Batch COmpiler?
I think you do: when I compiled I got my directory set to another map. I compiled once and copied the map into my nsp map. Than I thought I had the problem as well every time I compiled (read closely: the finished map every time went into another map, NOT the nsp maps directory). Make sure you have your compiled bsp in your nsp maps directory.
1) DO NOT Reformat
2) Try using your own typed batch file, not the batch compiler
3) Edit the map file and remove the line i told you too
4) Try with a fresh install of VHE and a new map with 4 walls, a roof and a floor, all textured in NULL
5) If this still doesn't work, send me your map file!
you dont have the wad listed in your compile?
it may be in your vhe...
I'm not going to send ANYONE my maps cause this all started when I transfered a map from my dad's computer (when I was using that to work on these) to the one I'm using now, so It could very be something in the map file (his computer has MANY viruses on it, including spyware, adware, auto-downloaders, and a freaking data miner... I thought I managed to get rid of them when I was transfering the files, but I was wrong)
I found an alternative to re-formatting. I am going to try the System Recovery options... kinda risky since I am lacking the recovery CD's, but I should be able to re-set the ENTIRE computer back to factory default settings (as in, fresh off the lines with the OS just installed)
................
.....
that's the entire point... I don't know...
All I know is it is like some phantom .wad file that keep stalking me!
anything but that....
seriously, sys restore does little-to-nothing.
formatting is a serious wasate of time...
do you use MSN messanger?
1) Make a new txt file.
2) Put this inside it
<span style='font-size:8pt;line-height:100%'>hlfix.exe yourmap.rmf
hlcsg.exe yourmap.map -hullfile K:\Sierra\ns\nshulls.txt -wadautodetect
hlbsp.exe yourmapmap
hlvis.exe yourmap.map -full
hlrad.exe yourmap.map -extra
opt_plns.exe yourmap.bsp</span>
3) Save
4) Rename to yourmap.bat
5) Run
6) Oh, btw, make sure you have hlfix set up right with the wad txt file, and that the batch file is in the same dir as your map, try to make the path have to spaces or not normal chars. (i.e make it c:\mapping\)
Send me a pm with your map if it doesn't work, or your msn/icq.
Look for a line like this
"wad" "C:/Valve/Steam/SteamApps/{e-mail}/half-life/nsp/ns2.wad;C:/Valve/Steam/SteamApps/{e-mail}/half-life/nsp/cargotruck1.wad.wad"
Get rid of this
;C:/Valve/Steam/SteamApps/{e-mail}/half-life/nsp/cargotruck1.wad.wad
and you will have somthing like this
"wad" "C:/Valve/Steam/SteamApps/{e-mail}/half-life/nsp/ns2.wad" (Whatever wads you used)
Just take it out in notepad.
Here's something else to check for:
Recheck all the paths and directories for your maps, make absolutely sure that the map you've exported and compiled is actually the one you're copying to your Steam folder. You might be continuously copying an old version of the BSP which still references cargotruck1.wad. I've done this before (Not with a WAD error, it was a WAV it kept on trying to find, but the cause is the same).
But still: you said it more understandable <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> .
And I think a system re-set would work (going to return it to factory default settings, so there won't be anything cept the OS on it <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
I'll send you the .txt file asap! (there's 5 of em, 1 per room)
BTW- I used halflife.wad, liquids.wad, and xeno.wad in em too, so you need those for the textures <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
*huggles his DVD/CD-RW combo drive* I won't be loosing a thing.
I managed to find out it IS the computer... the maps work fine when I compile on meh laptop 0o'
I think IM NOT 100% SURE started usind -wadautodetect on hlcsg.exe
me thinks me not bat at all having "weeeeeearrrrrrrrrdddd" problems like thisss
