    in this hand i was learning how to add bones to models, ive only done one finger as i was just testing.

    thats pretty darn good. i head 4d is pretty tough (from gfx guys though.. not modelers)

    the water would be more realistic with caustics.. (maybe you have used it,but i cant see the effect)
    have you rendered it with a hdri node?

    i use C4D and find it much easier than 3dsm but its a bit of a faff on when you come to getting models into a mdl format. I still dont know how to export the skeletons and animations only the modelsa dn skin maps.

    Bodypaint comes in handy when your skinning things as you can just paint directly ont he model or maybe just make a few marking on the skin and them do it in photoshop.

    nice renders, been using it long ?

    its very usefull its just a painting program really but you can paint on the texture or the model it also has all the standard tools like selectiosn and stuff.
