I thought all brushes needed to be within 4096, -10000 is way out of there, try moving the brush.

if a brush is tooo close to the edge of the grid it'll give this to you. Even though it looks like it is well inside the grid, Hammer will still mess it up.

I had to fight with this on several occasions.
