Best Bond Actor?

frostymoosefrostymoose Join Date: 2003-09-12 Member: 20799Members
Who was your favorite actor that played James Bond? Was it...

Sean Connery? (Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Gold Finger, Thunderball, You only Live Twice, Diamonds are Forever)
George Lazenby? (On Her Majesty's Secret Service)
Roger Moore? (Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill)
Timothy Dalton? (The Living Daylights, License to Kill)
Pierce Brosnan? (Golden Eye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day)

Timothy Dalton gets my vote.

Its obviously Sean Connery, no contest. Roger Moore is a close second though.

But I'm afraid you made a terrible mistake, Tim Tim Dalton has never played James bond, he only butchered the role severely until he was shot. Remove his name from this holy thread or suffer a similar fate!

I say nevermind connery, lets add brosnans looks with connery's acting. Hmm... tasty and good acting bond. :-)

Roger Moore was my old favorite but he was just way too old-looking to be bond IMO. I used to hate Dalton but I've dont a complete 180 on that .

Henry Jones for the win. Pierce Brosnan never fought Nazis (...or is old enough to have, aha ) or worked on a Russian sub, or wrote books and got annoyed by people, or was the best fake superhero in a crappy movie...so....

Roger Moore fit the part alot better. Blue eyes, blond hair and the whole bit. His accent wasnt as hardcore as connery but seemed more real. His acting was 2x time better IMO also.

Roger Moore did more acting compared to more action.

There's a good reason you've never heard of him....

Connery hands down. I've gotten my Connery impression pretty good. Go around saying things like "**** Galore" and "Things don't react well to bullets" (not Bond, can you figure out which movie?).

I really like Brosnan, he does a good job.

The Hunt for Red October. After he is shot, just before the other guy is going to run off and kill the bad guy, he says something along the lines of "And be careful. Things in here don't react well to bullets" (because they're in the Nuclear missile area), later while getting shot at the other guy does a pretty good impression of him when he mockingly repeats it.

I can't remember the movie but in the first 10 minutes Sean Connery (Aka Bond) got laid *6* times.

Sean Connery without a doubt. His accent is awesome, he has limitless comedic potential, and he'd be the only Bond I would do (as you can see I have already put a lot of thought into this)

Life wouldn't be the same without homoerotic thoughts..

And seconded , although Rgr Moore would be a close 2nd on that list, too. Brosnan's a cutie, but he just can't seduce like good old Moore could.

I think I should get out more.

    George Lazenby! Yea!!!
GJ Lazenby, get Bond married, then wife killed the next scene.

It is definatly Connery, especially since he's the only one who could fix the marrage mistake by being brought back to doing Bond movies.
Then Roger Moore, Brosnan, Dalton, then me, Flayra, George Bush, George W Bush, your mom, then Lazenby (didn't like him that much).

Ok being a girl I guess you think I would say "Brosnan, that sexy smart guy", right?
Well, wrong... the true Bond was, is and will ever be:

    Connery

This man just has the special something. He's smart, he's strong and he has this superb dry humor. Brosnan is not bad (well, he really looks good), but he just lacks something Connery has. Hard to describe...

    Sonja / Solaris

    Connery by far,

I like Moore too for 2nd if you go by old school Bond.

I think we can all agree that the newer Bond movies have more over the top action and I think Brosnan does well. Defining the modern day Bond.

    Besides,

all past Bond actors aside who would make a better James Bond today?

    Hugh Grant? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

anyways who is going to be the next Bond?

Who ever it is they have some bog shoes to fill.

    Connery.

As far as i'm concerned, there's never been another Bond. They don't have the voice, they don't have the looks... hell, Brosnan looks like some yuppie dip...stick driving along in an SUV with a mug of $15 cheap coffee from Starbucks ...and they sure as hell don't have the 'smooth'.

And if you watch the Bond movies, Connery was pretty damn good-looking in his youth. And aged well for a long time.

I agree on Sean but not Roger Moore, he was awful. Do you know he narrates those tapes in tourist attractions in Hong Kong now? A real James Bond wouldn't. A real Bond would be in his Villa with beautiful ladies etc. Also Roger Moore should be shot after doing Moonraker, the words 'worst film ever' cross my mind. That film was inexcusable.
