Guidelines really
I've played some very fun Marine vs Marine on Mr.Bill's brilliant co_sillyv3, the first map to get marine vs marine working to a playable state without cheats.
There are two downsides to current MvM play:
1) Both teams models look identical
2) Green team, Team 3 (second marine team) can't weld their CC
Here are a set of guidelines designed to remove or minimize the effect of those two downsides without a custom plugin; adminmod or amxmod should do. The following are suggested rules for playing this map that I think makes it a LOT more fun:
1) Each player must glow the colour of their team as soon as they spawn. Bind a key to "say glow blue" and "say glow green".
2) Glowing the colour of the enemy team is not permitted and will get you a warning, and then a kick.
3) Welding of the comm chair is NOT permitted for EITHER team, to make things fair. Welding your CC will get you a warning, and then a kick.
4) Friendly fire must be turned OFF for the duration of Marine vs Marine gameplay.
These three simple rules solve all the current "bugs" with MvM gameplay! Mr.Bills is busy at work on a new version that fixes the welding issue, however nothing can be done about the team models without custom plugins or server-side scripts, so rules 1 and 2 help. You have NO IDEA how handy it is to actually know what team a player is by looking at him; before the server started doing this, everybody shot at their own team way too much.
Rule 2 is obvious; it's practically cheating to glow blue if you're on team green!
Rule 3 is to prevent the blue team from unfairly welding their CC; the green team can't weld there's, so unless you want Green to always win, this makes it fair.
Rule 4 is also kind of obvious; it's hard to get everybody to glow the colour all the time, so there's going to be a LOT of shooting teammates by mistake. Friendly fire on will just make MvM gameplay unplayable.
Hope these suggested rules lead to some awesome MvM games for you and your server!
Oh, and in case you don't have the map, there are currently two servers playing it, including ReadyRoom.org's server, or you can download it here: http://www.ews.uiuc.edu/~hunsley/files/co_sillyv3.zip
And the "official" thread for the map: http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...showtopic=67663
Trust me, these rules make the map major-fun!

I don't like Alien vs Alien so much.
