Shaun Of The Dead

Lol, this film is very funny!

Its a british film, was released almost same time as dawn of the dead. Its the first ROM-ZOM-COM, that means, a romantic, zombie, comedy.

Very funny, highly recommended to anyone who lives in UK. And we get to laugh at the Americans who get their films early! MW HA HA HA

I am really looking forward to this movie. A LOT. From what I've seen of it it looks very good in an Evil Dead 2 or Dead Alive (the REAL first romantic zombie [pruposeful] comedy) kind of way. BTW, what kind of release is it getting over there, like a full theater thing, or just the smaller independant theaters (unless the UK theater system works a lot differently than the US system)

In the UK the films are normally released at every cinema.

This film is very funny, atleast i found it funny.. And the person in the back of the cinema had a weird laugh, and laughed at things that werent even funny... That made it even funnier..

Well if it's in theaters in the UK now, how long till it would be on DVD? Once again I have no knowledge of British cinema practices.

And Allurhive, thanks for reminding me of Dead Alive / Braindead, i've not watched that in a while.

*EDIT: UK DVD releases are usually about 6 months after initial release or so.

Going to see it on Tuesday when its cheapo night at the Odeon (yes I'm that much of a pauper) It looks brilliant, I also note how it has been heralded as the "greatest British zombie movie ever" which is what 28 Days later was, which was our last zombie movie... either they keep getting better or our film critics are suffering from long term memory loss.

28 days later was good and all but shaun of the dead is far superior XD
It's got all the elements of a good zombie flick yet despite even serious moments it still manages to be funny lol.

    Great fun =3

Ah, poetic justice, now Americans have to wait 6 months for something from England. I find it highly amusing having been on the pointy end of that particular stick many times.

now all we need is for the americans to get an offline version of an online game and for japan to suffer both fates and the world is in equilibrium XD

Some Dead alive tidbits for anyone who doesn't know...

If you have the VHS version of Dead Alive, be sure to watch the preview for "Warlock." Nothing beats Jack Palance saying, "If you want to dine with the devil... you're gonna need a pretty long spoon!"

Also, in the Fellowship of the Rings extended edition, in an early scene where Bilbo is hiding from another group of Baggins relatives, the woman who played the mother in Dead Alive plays the role of a hobbit! She tosses a curtain aside looking for Bilbo and still has that evil sneer to her. Really cool to see a character used from one of Jackson's earlier works

Anyway. Yes. Shaun of the Dead. Heard nothing but great things about it already, so I'm interested to see what it's all about.

    Edit: Zingaya! /me points

Psh, who cares about that old lady, I'd rather see a movie with The kikass Preist or Proffesor Dirt Old Zookeeper who talks about monkey rape.

I kick **** for the lord!

[edit] and ooooooh I will be seeing this movie, if I have to walk over the Atlanitic ocean myself to do it!

Well, Paquita's boyfriend Roger apparently moonlights as an heir to the throne - He has the role of Isidur in LOTR. Other than that, no other real honorable mentions... other than Peter Jackson, the undertaker's assistant. Interesting that he was a Rohan warrior in TT. When I first read about a "Romantic Zombie Comedy" I could only think of one scene (Never seen the actual movie)

So they're teenagers, right? She takes him up to the makeout point, and she confronts him--"You're only after me because of my brains, admit it!"

(sorry, funny because so many women gripe at us for being after their bodies, a zombie comedy could do a complete reversal... and I have too much free time, I'm off to study!)

I prefer the title "Braindead" to "Dead Alive", but regardless of that, it has to be the goriest film and certainly one of the funniest films I've ever seen.
